At last! People playing the tune correctly, as composed by Annlaug. Well done all four of you.
Totally agree why do so many people feel the need to change the structure of such a beautiful tune.?
This is the best rendition of this tune I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot.
What a lovely arrangement for Da Lounge Bar.
Wow! A lovely playing of a lovely tune named after a lovely place in Lerwick. Thanks a lot!
Excellent! I must say - the guitar playing is outstanding
My Celtic band put this in a set after the woodcock and the kerfunten. It's a group favorite now.
Wow what an amazing recording, it makes me so happy listening to it (on repeat many times)
Just loving this. Wonderful. Simply makes you happy 🎻❤. Thank you. On repeat and learning 👍.
Really beautiful and wholesome sounding tune. Full of happiness. I just love it!
Many thanks for your kind words!!
zo goed,dank
Was wondering if this was written about Da Lounge Bar in Lerwick, Shetland Isles ?? Where on a Saturday lunchtime , traditional musicians got together to blast out their music over a few pints. Great times.
Indeed it was, we believe!
@@thegoodtunes Yes...I saw some concert footage where she explains the origin of the tune and it was indeed da lounge bar in Lerwick she speaks of..
I only just found this a few days ago, and it has been on repeat ever since. Absolutely sublime piece!
Many thanks, glad you found us!
My current favorite tune - thank you for posting it! Really enjoying your channel :)
Very beautiful and joyful.
It makes you happy!
A friend just taught me this tune, love it! This is a sweet version, thanks for posting it!
Thanks for listening, it is a truly sweet tune.
I love it.
Fabulous
Toe tapping for sure!
Very nice ❤
I am currently learning this and to hear it helps soo much!
Love this tune and love your version! Fair play lads
Thanks Luke, glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah man! Gotta love it 😉👍
What a nice tune ❤️👍
Nice tune well played by all. The guitar accompaniment on a 12 string? That was really good. Maybe he's listened to a little John Doyle?
Maybe Cameron! He certainly plays a mean 12 string.
Top notch!!! Thanks for sharing.
You guy SOOOOO good!
Hi! American fiddler here, I was wondering what tuning y'all use on your fiddles for this delightful jig? This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard and need to start learning ASAP 😄
Hi! Fiddles are tuned in standard GDAE tuning. Happy learning! Sheets and backing tracks available on at www.patreon.com/thegoodtune if you need 😀
I was impressed...
Such a great tune and rendition. Thanks for the music guys ❤ Does someone know what guitar tuning this is? Desperately want to learn this!
This is fantastic. Would you mind giving the guitar chords?
A part is just Bm, D, G and A. B part is D, D/F#, G A, Bm, G, A, D. C part the backing drops away and holds on a Bm, switching to a G in the second repeat. HTH
This is so amazing! Is there bass added in afterwards? I’m hearing such a low tone that I don’t think any of these instruments could make.
That guitar is electro acoustic by the looks so the bass could have been brought up just for the guitar when the levels were mixed.
Not that bad - you know what I mean ;-)
This has instantly become my favourite jig! Great rendition of the tune! It's an absolute joy to watch and listen to. And what an incredible guitar playing! May I ask what tuning he plays in?
I just found this too, and love it. As for Simon, based on looking at the bass notes he's playing, I think he might be playing in Roger Tallroth's open D5 tuning, ADADAD
@@davedupplaw Thanks!
Simons tuning is very close to Roger Tallroth tuning. The lightest string is different and the tuning is one whole tone lower than Tallroth so GCGCGD. Simon is my teacher, that’s why I know 🎶
😇
did you overdub a bass? or how the hell does a guitar get that amazing low end! very nice version anyway
Cheers Martin! The guitar is tuned in ADADAD using nylon strings on the lowest two strings. The tuning was invented by the Swedish guitarist Roger Tallroth.
@@thegoodtunes Thanks for the info! That makes much more sense with the guitar :) You recorded definitely a very nice version of this great tune. I am playing it with some fellow musicians in Hamburg and I was looking for inspiration. Your version definitely gave me some really good input and I just enjoyed it a lot genuenily, specially the rhythmical 5 pattern of the harmony at the beginning of the phrase! I think it gives the tune a really nice groove
