Big Antique & Vintage Finds at Remote Tiny Town Flea Market!

- We're hunting for cool antiques and vintage to take with us as we head west for next weekend's @RoseCityVintageMarket show in Portland, Oregon! Not a lot is open on Sunday as we drive across the Great Plains, but a chance spot of a Craigslist ad takes us to a town way off the beaten path that's having a flea market! Will there be bargains worth buying to take to our Northwest collectors?
In the tiny old downtown of Lyons, Nebraska, we happen on a classic car show/bike show/tractor show, with a hardworking (and loud) band laboring before a smattering of people. After goofing on all the cool old cars (including a carbon copy of my dad's 1967 Ford truck), we stumble across a group of perhaps half-a-dozen flea market dealers...and a few really good vintage surprises! Advertising signs and displays, a mink muff, a cool bottle opener and some other fun pieces jump out at us, and we say yes before I can contemplate how I'm going to fit it in my already full van.
They refer us to the "other half" of the flea market, a group of about a dozen vendors (including a small auction) in and around an abandoned Phillips 66 station. They won't let the old 66 sign go, so will I find anything worth taking west? A nice offer from one of the sellers at the last minute provides me with something unexpected, something I might need with the change in the weather. Bundled back in the van, I get to reflect on another fun and fruitful stop in an obscure Nebraska town! Now it's on to Portland for my show...1700 miles to go...

Hi George! That was a Short and Sweet Good Time! I Love the Mexican Blanket ❤
Yes it was!
I love digging through boxes of goodies too. ❤
Me too! Hi there! We should do that together again sometime
@@TheAntiqueNomadShorts We should 😁❤️
So glad to meet you at your recent stop at Bettys Truck Stop! Youre so kind to pose for a picture. A previous comment says you look good in bright colors. Theyre right! Safe travels and a profitable trip!!
It was really fun to run into you there! I was so surprised when you recognized me in an out of the way place like Betty's
I really appreciate when you show the car shows! And the shop pets!😁❤️🐩
I like to show the travel a bit
Have a great sale George!❤😘
Thank you for taking us along!!❤
The Mexican blanket looked good on you. Maybe you should wear shirts with all the colors. ❤️😊
I think so!
Hi George+
Safe travels and good wishes.
Thanks George! I love all your videos! I'm making my pilgrimage from Wisconsin to Portland for the Rose City Vintage Market myself. My first time and so excited!
I'm so glad we got to meet! I hope you had a lot of fun on your antiquing vacation
Enjoy your blanket! Zarape
I like the black Amethyst bowl and the hob knob bowl by Fenton. Great little side stop. Have a great day and safe travels
Looks like fun!
Love, love love you!!!!!
There's a place on the Oregon coast that makes those funny face mugs. They're pretty cool.
Your parents used seatbelts? WOW! I remember getting stuck in a seatbelt in my dad’s ‘69 Buick and getting in trouble! He says I TOLD YOU NOT TO MESS AROUND AND PUT ON THE SEATBELT! We were truly free range kids! Lol!😅
My mom was afraid of my dad's driving I think lol
Have fun
I had to check a map because I couldn’t remember where Lyons is. 🤷♀️ I haven’t lived in the northeast part of Nebraska since the mid 70s. Looks like it was worth the stop!
It was a fun place!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just curious, how many miles are on the clock? You drive such long distances. Driving 300 miles over here is a long way 😂 Take care darling, and love to you and Xeno. Charlotte xx 🇬🇧
Leroy has 219000 miles! I have a few more than that
@@TheAntiqueNomad lol! The average mileage of a car in 🇬🇧 is 9000 miles per year!
So your vehicle is getting too full of stuff? Remember the movie line, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat.”? 😊 and ah yes, those metal dashboards in our family cars. Who thought that was a good idea? 😊
I’m afraid to get a bigger boat I’ll just buy more stuff. This is as much of boat as I can afford to fill. I had a Studebaker with a metal dash they padded just the top and it was great because you could use refrigerator magnets to leave yourself notes.
Yes mink muff
Fun, ty
Welcome to Nebraska! It's a big state to drive through.
They all are out west!
Hi george
Yesterday I saw someone driving the new Tesla Truck, it reminded me of the Delorean. :P
I haven't seen it yet, but I really like the Rivian electric trucks a lot
I have a set of Siesta Ware glasses with the carrier listed on eBay. I think the shipping cost is scaring people away since it’s a heavy piece.
That's the problem! They sell well in person though
Hi electric poodle
I live in Nebraska and I have found junk jaunt is sparse. You basically have to drive a while to find sales
That can be true on highway sales, depends how big and how spaced apart the towns are
Please watch for Hotchkiss staplers for me?
Will do! I'd recognize the name
