  • The path that led me to video was not at all the usual one. I had many friends who studied film, all with aspirations to one day shoot a movie. That was never me. I started doing video at the time because there was a need and being somewhat of a storyteller, I began to use video to tell stories - primarily short ones.
Over time, my passion grew for the short format, ad style type of videos where I could use the 'underdog' type of camera and make it look insane - almost movie-like, without ever wanting to attempt to shoot a movie. When Sony asked me to shoot with their flagship cinema camera, the Venice 2, I was torn in two.
This was an awesome opportunity, but with it came some very daunting challenges - the first being the fact that I have never even touched a cinema line camera. And also, where I usually made cameras look better than they were maybe expected to look, this camera HAD to look exactly as good as it is and I am a rookie when it comes to the cinema world.
Needless to say, this was by far the most challenging project I have ever attempted. We had time against us from the get-go, we had to change our storyline last minute to accommodate practical issues, the travelling was totally exhausting, and Dubai was next level impressive and overwhelming at the same time.
Having said that, looking at the end product, I really feel proud. It opened up my eyes to a whole new world where I can still learn and grow so much.
