- In the noble, vast land of Hokkaido in the north of Japan, in the tumultous early 20th century ...
Saichi Sugimoto is a Russo-Japanese War hero who earned the epithet "immortal" for the otherworldy combat skills he demonstrated on many battlefields, including the bloodiest of them all: 203 Meter Hill. Hoping to find a huge sum of money for a certain purpose, he begins searching for gold in Hokkaido.
There, Sugimoto learns about a large trove of gold that was stolen from an Ainu tribe. The man who stole it, Noppera-Bo, hid it just before being captured. He gave 24 of his fellow inmates tattoos that, when combined, make up a single code that reveals the location of the gold, and then helped the prisoners escape.
Around that time, Sugimoto is attacked by a wild brown bear and saved by an Ainu girl named Asirpa, whose father was killed by the man who stole the gold. Sugimoto, who wants to find the gold, and Asirpa, who seeks revenge for her father, decide to team up.
Another man is also on the treasure's trail: Tokushiro Tsurumi, First Lieutenant of the 7th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army. He schemes to conquer Hokkaido for the sake of his soldiers who risked their lives in the war but were left unrewarded, and needs the gold to fund his military aims.
Among the escaped prisoners is Toshizo Hijikata, the merciless vice-commander of the Shinsengumi military police force who was thought to have died in the Boshin War. He and his former ally Shinpachi Nagakura seek the gold to realize their own ambitions.
Sugimoto & Asirpa, the 7th Division, and Toshizo Hijikata all go head-to-head in a bid to strike it rich in the majestic northern wilderness!
The three-way battle for survival begins now!

On the Hokkaido frontier, a war veteran and Ainu girl race against misfits and military renegades to find treasure mapped out on tattooed outlaws. - Розваги
Don't be fooled, this is a show about Food
They better have citatap in the show
HINNA HINNA
Nah ah bro, it's a great masterpiece I read the manga to the end
I'm memeing. I freaking love the Manga
Chitatap! Hinna hinna!
Best cooking anime in live action Hina Hina
That's because they hired a culinary specialist on Ainu cuisine to help with the cooking scenes. This movie did so many things right, it deserves to be seen!
@@aninaf28expect it was constantly criticized for being "too clean" especially on that clothing department by the Japanese, like every of their outfit was "ironed out"
Hinna Hinna~
Hina Hina Fr FR
I was going to be very upset if Hina Hina wasn't mentioned in the first comment lmao.
No way, I never saw this one coming
Oh dont worry, you better be ready, there's enough soon to be the live action material for the next 10 generations
im crying
Same
Quite literally one of THE best anime shows I have ever watched. Golden Kamuy is a master class of story telling and character development. If you have been sleeping on it please wake up to it. It is an amazing show, the fact that a live action production is now in play should be testament to that fact.
Absolutely spot on mate. It's insane how underrated Golden Kamuy is. It's my favourite anime by far, Tsurumi and Ogata are such well written characters and the action feels very real. That sniper showdown between Ogata and Hood was fantastic. Or Tanigaki and Ogata's fight. The characters actually feel like they could die, instead of being completely overpowered. The detail that goes into the history is outstanding too, I've actually learned so much about Ainu culture. Oh shit, the music is fantastic too
Agreed, my favorite os Ogata too, but ALL the characters have some kind of development and the storytelling os really amazing, I like the sense of humor too, pretty good for my taste
My favorite part is the masturbation shooting duel 🤣
@@aoimaru2022 Oh for sure, Asirpa getting excited and flying through the roof of their shelter had me in stitches. My favourite moment was when Asirpa shot arrows into the air, that she said had poison in them, only for one to hit shiraishi in the head. "Oh, does that mean I'm gonna die?" ahaha classic.
Even characters like Tsukishima, that don't have much to do in the first season, get really powerful backstory's and development. The anime is good at using flashbacks of their past and then showing how it affects the person they've become.
@@leonardohidalgo5127 Oh shit I can't believe I forgot that. Man, god bless this beautiful show 🤣
No way, are they gonna leave the "zesty" stuff in
Banya
I hope not
There is Sugimoto in onsen scene
they better remove them
Netflix is trying to find their niche on what things they should re-create into a live action and should not and this is probably gonna be another tragedy…
Just remember this is the same series that had the infamous "jack off" fight scene.
Oh sweet lord usami coming ....😭🤌🏻
@@sadichchhaparulekar691 thankfuly thats s4, we get people easing in like well, the whole show
😂😂😂😂if you can't take it don't watch it
And the golden shower scene… 😂😂😂
and peeing on face scene during the arctic
Imagine if they include that infamous reunion pissing scene.
That one is a must.
Nah man the battle of the pervs. Jizz bullet standoff.
The attention to the costumes and characters is insane for a live action! I have high hopes for this.
actually their costumes are like cosplay products. I think this is not good for cinematography. Live actions must be different than animes. They must be more realistic.
@TheNera2010 That's your opinion. I think they look great. The uniforms are based on actual designs used in the Russo-Japenese war. These look fairly realistic to me.
Too brightly colored and the color grading and lighting looks like for soap or tv commercial
@@thedude8526 They do look great, but they also look like freshly tailored, which makes this look quite *meh*. Calling them "cosplay outfits" fits quite nicely.
For some, yes.. for most, no..
Ok Kento Yamazaki is everywhere now. For those who don’t know he was L on the recent Death Note live action series, and he also was on Kingdom live action parts 1-3. He is also Arisu in Alice in Borderlands.
recent? it was 2015 lmao
AiB was gangsta af yo! Loved it! I had no idea what I was gettin myself into & once I got into it? I cudnt stop lmfao. Binge watched the 2 seasons in like 2 days haha. That’s a lot of tv time if u do it in a span of 2 days but no bs no lie? I just finished rewatching GoT S1-S8 & I did it in 3 days & trust me that was HELLA HELLA HELLA TV TIME 🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯
Even his old dramas on Viki are very good
Many people don't know this anime or Manga which is mad annoying because it's the best historically accurate manga number two after Kingdom Manga and fun fact because of this Manga the Ainu gained freedom to use some of their lands in Japan and also access to teach more about the culture to Japan schools and museums. It's that Good of a series so you guys should read the Manga before you see this movie.
Many people don't know this gem because they nearly not know anime or manga that's all.
It's well known in the manga circles.
When people will stop to see manga just a something for the kids and understand how diverse it is (unlike comics who are centered into superheroes) maybe things will change. I'm eager to see it, because i'm tired of it and also because i believe in this possible change : )
Where can I read more about the good things the manga/anime did to Ainu? Are there articles?
Oooh. Thanks Netflix! This was showing Japan last January when i was there. I was hoping this will be translated ASAP, good thing you picked this up.
The music better slap harder than *"Hibana the Sixth Lie"* , that's legit in my top 3 anime songs of all time
I like listening to that song during the winter night
The casting, or costume/makeup is amazing.
just need to see how they present "the big guy"
ahh, finally we don't have to wait for the 1yr to 2yrs Physical release waiting time. Thank you Netflix.
I think this will be the best live action anime adaptation ever cause it's so close to the anime, great casting and performance❤
FYI, GK LA version is not originally produced by Netflix; Netflix probably bought the license for worldwide distribution. GK LA was released in Japan in January as a movie and still running until today. Hopefully Netflix will get the authorization to release its drama series (continuation from the movie).
THIS is getting a live action adaptation too?!😲 Sure wasn't expecting to see this happening and thats coming from someone that's not watched the anime at all.
It's not really that surprising, the series is very popular in Japan
Can't wait to watch the LA scenes of _"citatap"_ and _"hinna hinna"_
This is the kind of shows that deserve a live action adaptation🔥🔥
Underrated anime gets an underrated movie.
Neat
My favorite historical, action, food, bara manga getting a live action adaptation!!!! I WON!!!!!
Perfect timing now that the manga series is done
This had me as soon as the Shinsengumi were mentioned. 😁👍🏾
the anime was amazing. I want season 5 and 6.
So, Shueshia is preparing its own cinematic universe?.
There is One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Kingdom, City Hunter, and now Golden Kamuy but also Naruto, and My Hero Academia in works.
At this point I'm just waiting for Jojo to get a live action series
This plot should lend itself quite easily to live action adaptation. No magic, no sci-fi, it's all logistically quite sound. It's mostly politics and thriller elements, even Dirty Dozen or heist vibes to a degree. So if Netflix fucks this up....
That might be true for the plot, but the cartoonish and crass vibes are hard to pull off in live action
@@TheOriginalDogLP Well it IS an anime. That is the primary medium it should be enjoyed as. Not the live action.
sugimoto!!! i can't wait!
I wonder how far they'll get. Can't see them adapting...YAAAMEEEROOOOOO
dude that actor is everywhere, what hard working person he is 😂
Gunfight/knife fight in anime live action? Hell yes!! We eating good!!
I binged the whole anime this winter I’m so hype
Omg. My favorite anime. It's such a great story. Totally deserves a live action treatment.
LETS GOOOOO IVE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS LIVE ACTION
The casting looks spot on. I can't wait to see this one go live action.
They casted an adult Asirpa in this LA. Understandable, because the anime isn't just about hunting and cooking hinna hinna foods.
@@byssmal She looks older than Asirpa's age, but, she doesn't look adult, more like a teen
@@jonathanwessner3456 Asian women always look like a teen in their adult age
@@byssmal I like her as the actor for Asirpa
what a surprise! can't wait to watch them make chitatap chitatap 😁
Shogun and then Golden Kamuy, such awesome authentic culture-oriented shows
I had this anime in my backlog for awhile it might be time to watch it
Definitely, Sugimoto is a badass without being overpowered
The miso scenes brings back good memories 😂
they skipped lot of things in anime, i doubt if live action is any different ... i loved the manga. hope they do it right.
I watched the movie. It exceeded my expectations. They did switch some parts in the movie, though. Like, swapping the arrangement of chapters, though they generally covered up to Chapter 20. The next arcs will be featured in the upcoming series that will air this fall.
What did they skip in the anime if I may ask lol I’ve seen all 4 seasons
@@aninaf28 So it'll have a serie? I thought it was only a movie. Heck yeah!
@CesarPerez-zc6kl yes! This movie will be followed by a series, but based on reports, it will be exclusively released on a Japanese streaming platform. I wish Netflix picks it up tho! The casting of the characters that have yet to be introduced looks 👌🏼
@@aninaf28 ohhh I'll wait for it!!
Come on!
Obviously I'm gonna watch it!
And here you go in my list 😁
chitatap chitatap letsgoooooo 🔥
10/10 manga, 10/10 anime, let's see if the live action can be at least nearly as good. I've heard good things about it.
Yes ! Yes ! Yes ! Netflix doing just amazing
Golden kamuy is extremelly good. I hope that live action is half as good and even that way will be great.
Can't wait for the golden shower scene 💀
holy shit costumes and casting looks absolutely spot-on
those Russo-Japanese war flashbacks are going to look awesome
Awesome movie hope they adapt the other arcs into live action
The following arcs will be adapted as well but will be released as a series, not a movie
I follow this series from the start now I'm glad to see the live Action.
Toshizo Hijikata and the Shinsengumi were also in Rise of the Ronin! I need to watch this ASAP!
I'm excited! Love the anime
What a live version of this! Oh boy, hopefully they keep it faithful to the source material.
It is pretty faithful to the source material!
You mean usami vs killer fap battle? Hahahah
I’m not familiar with the original work, but the visuals-particular costume/makeup design-look really cool; I’m intrigued!
IMHO one of the greatest adventure stories ever
Genuinely curious on how they're going to portray the rest of the Ainus.
So excited this japan NEFLIX ❤
What a great reminder! Gotta see if they anime is finished in dub
Nice movie and greetings from me an Ainu tribe from sapporo, hokkaido 🙏
Very good anime
Hope they pull of the live action well
Hope they kept the P & Hand movements crime scene.
After Ryo Saeba we are now seeing IRL Saichi Sugimoto
Awesome!! ❤❤
cant wait for the live action golden shower scene lol
If they're planning to make seasons of this series, they btter add the "Otter incident"
I have been putting golden kamuy to the side now I don’t know whether to watch the live action first or the anime. I mean this looks good.
What I don't understand, Netflix.. is why do all outfits need to look like a cosplay.. it doesn't always gonna work for real life, just study what the animators studied and choose a proper realistic attire, I'm talking about the girl and some of the extras using hats that don't seem to fit their heads. But this was promissing, the main character and the villain looks awesome even while looking exact the same as the Anime. Anime is Anime, movie is a movie.. actually doesn't even make much sense cause Anime, even while being drawing and painted gives a lot of value for historical details and making things look rustic, then the movies throw it all away to look like I don't even know what. Also, Alita was a movie managing it greatly.
Asirpa's full attire was made by real Ainu artisans tho. And what the soldiers wearing are old uniforms of IJA. It's quite easy to replicate them.
one word insane. actors look pretty same as anime and manga
Finally on Netflix! I hope The Yin Yang Master Zero (Onmyoji) and "The Silent Service" will be on NETFLIX too.
Who else would have the most epic Pearl Necklace fight but this series?
Watching this i feel at oeace and happy i dont know why😭😭the anime is such a masterpiece I'll watch this day 1🤩🤩
that cement shooting scene ☠💀
Characters look great 👍🏾 👌🏾 👏🏾
For those who saying it's cooking anime, just watch it's Abashiri Prison arc (season 2 ending) it has great mystry behind those tattoos 🤌🏻
I did not see that one coming. The sad thing is Netflix will never make the fight scenes as gnarly at they should be.
Oglądałam całe sezony już się nie mogę doczekać pełnometrażowego filmu
WHAT a time to be alive
You know, of all the anime to make into live action, I think this one could be done easier than most.
Did i missed something in the anime? I thought that Asirpa was supposed to be a kid, she looks more older in the live-action. I only watched the first season, so maybe i could be wrong.
The costumes are amazing, Netflix is really working hard in those live-actions.
shes 16
@@jahaonsaqarty8752 What? She looks like she's 10 years old :0
Anime characters design are confusing. I really need to rewatch this
I needed this
I am watching the Anime, its awesome!
The live action trailer looks even greater!
Wait... THE Golden Kamuy...? 🤩🤩🤩
The anime was great hope the serie will be too
🔥🔥🔥
There is no way they can pull this off. The facial expressions in the anime alone are unrecreatable irl.
Ok this one is actually possible to make good as a live action. If people working on it have interest on making it good of course.
The director himself is a GK otaku, which is pretty much reflected in the output.
need to see that scene where the female protag's eyelid got stuck on a pant's zipper. 🤣
*A MASTERPIECE ANIME*
Looks like Kazuki Soma escaped from prison and becomes Tokushiro Tsurumi
We need the "ora ora ora ora ora" stuff
Ok. The stetic is pretty accuratte. Well done Netflix.
Looks better than I expected.
Ooohhh clap clap clap, waiting on Netflix America. Hope will be like anime, with no cuts.
1:21 HE SAID THE LINE!!!!!!!!
Oooh yeah! I didn't c that coming, I love the anime series but a true live action adaptation... I can't wait!
You better put out that sauna scene
Looks good, maybe Netflix didn’t mess this one up.
CGI Bear never misses lol
Lezgoooooo
Russo-Japanese war sequences gonna be wild af
For a second, I thought this was going to be directed by Takashi Miike. 😂😂
This looks like a war anime adaption wow I am interested
Josuke got tired and travelled to next liveactionverse.😂.
I can't wait to see my favorite golden kamuy character in action, cgi bear
