@@TheToolnut Those very experienced guys you see in the video are joiners, "Zimmermänner" in German. They build the whole roof. They didn't use even one screw for the wall where the timber frame stays visible - they build it only with timber joints the old way. We are very proud of that craftsmanship!
@@HofamGeisbachGbR Outstanding, I spotted the timber pegs holding the frames together. I assume they used the draw boring technique. There seemed to be some kind of topping out ceremony. What were they drinking? What part of Germany is that, it looks like beautiful countryside, 👍💪🔨🪓🌲🇩🇪🇮🇪
@@TheToolnut We are celebrating the roofing ceremony - Richtfest in German. When the roof structure is ready but the roof tiles aren't placed, then we celebrate. The Master of the carpenters and the owner of the house are delivering speeches, normally in verses and wish blessings of the good Lord for the house and the family. The master throws his shot glass down and it has to break for good luck. We're having schnapps and beer and bratwurst. Some kind of decoration is usual like a decorated tree or wreath. All of the neighbours and all of the workers are invited. It is really fun. We live in Hesse. We have those soft hills everywhere and it is really beautiful.
Morsch? Der Dachstuhl sah doch noch richtig gut aus.

@@HofamGeisbachGbR Top notch craftsmanship, I like the decorative detail on your rafter tails. Did you get them made by a joiner?
