JOURNEY HOME - 2024-06-10 - Matt and Rachel Sheils - Former Salvation Army Officers

- Matt and Rachel Sheils were Salvation Army officers who began to ask questions about the foundations of authority, morality, and the nature of what it meant to be part of a worshipping community.
They took some time off to reflect on these questions and dive more deeply into Scripture, and in doing so, found themselves surprisingly drawn to the truth and beauty of the Catholic Church.

I just listened to this episode on Sirius XM Radio channel 130. Very neat story of God's providence. ❤
Great story. God with you.
Oh my gosh. Not only did my respect for The Salvation Army grow from this, but I was moved so much by both of their testimonies. That was wonderful!
Just love for the Lord is what I see in you both ❤
Wow, I am a huge fan of The JH show, and to be honest more of an "addict" than fan. This is one of the most powerful conversion stories I ever heard. Matt & Rachel's commitment to Jesus and living your faith is so monumental. To drop your career and to sell all your possessions to lead the lost back to Christ. What a massive commitment to Jesus. I am so proud to be Catholic to know that we have brothers and sisters in Christ like these two tremendous examples. Thank you for sharing your story. If you are ever in the Boston area I hope you come to my parish (St. Stanislaus FSSP) in Nashua ,New Hampshire. God Bless you!!! Christ is King!!!
This conversion story was interesting to me because of their conversion from the Salvation Army.
Of all the stories that I have listened to, none have been from this group.
I am not familiar with their theology at all.
For that reason, I couldn't get enough.
Thank you and God bless you all!
All Christians need to be united under the one true apostolic church of Jesus Christ. Catholic means universal
It is a very beautiful story.
To be honest, what a compliment to the Salvation Army Church that they are known not by their theology, thoughts, or statements of faith, but known by their works of love -which is faith working through love. Very cool! Glad these two are home now!
Muy padre su historia Matt y Rachel Dios los bendiga. I HAVE BEEN CATHOLIC MY WHOLE LIFE IN MEXICO AND I AM ALSO SUPRISED by Catholic Church.
¡Que el Señor te bendiga!
God is good alleluia Amen
Another really interesting story in God's great book of stories. Thank you all for sharing. Trust in the Lord!
Thank you so much for your testimony. Our faith is full and fruitful. Stay strong and persevere because the devil attacks the truth. God bless you through your journey.🙏🙏🙏
Happy ending allelhuia praise the Lord 🙌
Thanks for sharing your journey of coming home❤️
Beautiful!
❤️ a beautiful journey to holiness
Great history.
The scripture says The pillar and foundation of all truth is the Church
The problem with Christ and His Church is that they are anti-ego. As we see, this is a hard sell in America. Americans are rugged individualists who joyfully accept Christ - on THEIR terms.
@HAL9000-su1mz
Very problematic!
Jesus put the Pope in charge to keep the ship heading in the right direction.
When we become our own Pope, we choose our own theology and quickly fall off course.
May God lead all people to the truth in His Church! 🙏
@@rosiegirl2485 Notice that "Protestantism" claims to be Christianity, and some of it still is, but its very foundation is the human ego.
Any chance of getting Gerard A. Figurelli on Journey home interviews? He did one already on 'The Cordial Catholic' ... but its a nice story and an accomplished student.
Heres a question for you When Catholic priest confessor gives one instruction but my priest pastor has a different take, who is to be followed?
An experience is a spiritual experience
The new birth is baptism
You need to be born again while there is still time!
How do you go back into your mom's womb
Apparently they were! Into the One Holy Apostolic Church.

Born in water and spirit.🌹🌹🌹🙏

Nicodemus asked Jesus exactly the same question and Jesus answered him.
God bless
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV Bible
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
TROLL "Barb Taylor" reported many times for harassment and anti-Christian behavior.
@@HAL9000-su1mz I quoted scripture. It's not anti-Christian or harrassment. Popery is anti-Christian. Read about the Inquisition and read The Jesuit Oath. It's still ongoing, no matter what pope is sitting on the man made throne. End of discussion.
@@BarbTaylor-g2k You twisted it. 2 Peter 3:16. You persecute the Body of Christ - baptized Christians - therefore you persecute Christ for the sake if your preferences and biases. Yet, it is YOUR theology which is novel; which incites you and leads you to lash out at brothers and sisters. What "Gospel" would do that? I do not see Christ in your words. Only ego. Prayers for humility.
