  • On December 4th, 2013, Steiner Sports was prominently featured in Showtime's '60 Minutes Sports.' The segment covered the growing market for game-used sports memorabilia, and the dangers of buying from unlicensed sellers. Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner shared insights on the changing industry, and commented on the recent autograph scandal with Heisman Winner, Johnny Manziel.
Brandon is seen with Signings Director Eric Levy conducting a signing where Steiner Exclusive Athlete Mariano Rivera signed bases and jerseys used in games during his final season.
The segment follows MLB Authenticators taking bases from the field at Yankee Stadium and immediately hologramming them and entering them into MLB's Database. Later on, Derek Jeter gives a glowing testimonial for the authenticity of Steiner Sports Jeter Memorabilia.
In an industry where it is almost impossible to be positive that an item was used during a given game, Steiner Sports sets the standard through exclusive team and player partnerships.
Steiner Sports has been an industry leader for over 25 years, and prides itself on its credibility and authenticity.

Steiner Sports, genius. Game used memorabilia is incredible but I hate to see it on baseball cards. When Upper Deck purchased a game used Babe Ruth jersey and cut it into pieces and put it into baseball cards that piece of history is lost forever.

"I have this item that you signed for me" Jeter says "Nah, I didn't sign that" well if the person says that Jeter signed it for them, who is more likely to remember, Jeter or the fan? If they saw him sign it thats all they need to know.

I’ve seen people talk with their hands. But that authenticator guy talks with his head

If he thinks Mickey Mantle and Jeter walked on the same dirt then Steiner is nuts

Fun fact about the Andrew Shaw stitches: 100% of the $6500 paid went to the Jimmy V Foundation

Don't the sport card companies have a player wear a jersey and take it off and claim its "game used"? Upper Deck ruined the hobby in all facets: card collecting, autographs, game used.

They claim it as player worn not game used

      That's called "player worn".
I don't think these companies ruin the hobby, just devalue it and make it look shady... personally, I find swapping out the bases every inning or players sitting down and signing 1000's of autographs to be a bit gross... I don't buy autographs of anyone who played in the past 40 years because it's not rare. It's not special. Not anymore.

Brandon, USAF combat veteran n HUGE admirer of your honesty in this hobby. My lifelong goal, despite being a Red Sox fan, is to own a Derek Jeter signed ball. Any chance we could work out a veterans discount? I'm ok paying good money, but being on veteran benefits as a single father of 2 makes it quite difficult. Please lmk about a veterans discount. Would truly make my dream come true

You act like every seller is shady. When buying on the secondary market, you just want to make sure you know the autograph you are buying and that it's certified by one of the top 3 authenticators.
