i remember falling asleep to this in the dark of night, in our minivan, on the highway, not thinking much of it..
now i’m a teenager struggling with mental illness and understanding her sexuality, her love for women. being a young lesbian girl in a world of confusion. crying for no reason at all. this song makes me feel some sort of yearning, heartbreak, and mystification. it reminds me of the young girl i was and the one i am now. so much has changed yet the world around me stays the same.

This song is on someone's Spotify playlist for the saddest book I've ever read, "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara, and it has become one of my favorite songs ever since I have heard it. I put it on repeat the first time I heard it, and by the third time, the tears ran down my face so hard. This song, in the most heartbreakingly beautiful way, reminds me of Jude and the love that everyone has for him. And listening to it sometimes makes me want to hug people who are suffering from mental illnesses or who believe they are unworthy of all kinds of love, kindness, and happiness.
