here are the words of my parents and the captains with whom I worked in the navy. they said that there was order, there were resources, there were salaries, everything was of high quality and inexpensive, logistics was well developed, they did not face a shortage. Mom lived in the Republic of Khakassia, captains in the Tyumen region (Siberia) and dad in Uzbekistan (he's Russian, just used to go there often)
