Blizzard did copy everything from Warhammer. They basically remade a water downed corny rated G b movie status of Warhammer. Original concept was a Warhammer game but G.W turned it down. Then they hired bad writer's to study Warhammer lore and make the Cheese that Warcraft is today.
Aye, they look Chinese as fuck. Animations aren't made by blizzard and neither are the models. I can tell this is purely outsourced and in the case of it not being, it must be a new lead animator/model designer or a new team at blizzard doing this cause this is too far outside blizzards comfort zone which they've always stuck to.
Indeed. The mod is the perfect remaster, the new textures are not made for this game, they feel like they are for a new game (WC4 or even some new Warhammer kind of game)

Warcraft 3 (2002) is the best in my opinion because I grew up on this game I used to love this game every weekend for 3-4 hours playing it was a lot of fun
I personally think a big reason as to why the new models look so underwhelming compared to the old ones, or the modded ones is because every model had a very distinct look to it. Each and every one. You can clearly tell them apart, from the moment you look at them, even from a distance and even in the middle of all the action happening on screen. While some of the modded models look a bit ugly, you can tell they stayed true to that and tried to replicate that distinction for every unit. You do not see that in reforged. Really, go to any time stamp in this video where the reforged panel shows a collection of unit types. They all look extremely similar, they blend together so much. To make it worse, that's all zoomed in view. Now try looking at all that shit during gameplay, with tons of units in sight, spells and particle effects happening. All the clarity is completely gone. The shift in design choice is extremely evident. Taking the skeleton archer for example (3:55), you can see the bow taking up almost as much space as the skeleton itself, the colour tints being so in your face that you simply CAN'T not tell them apart. Whereas the new models, going for realism, the bow is scaled down single handed and you will not notice it without conscious effort. Place a dozen of those units on screen mixing in with all the other skeleton models you absolutely will not tell them apart. Its bad enough that the 2 tiers of skeleton archers look identical but the fact that they look so similar to every other type of that unit makes it that much more worse
Thats so true. Its a bit hard to know whats going on now in a battle. Before it was more obvious, i wont answer to your whole comment, but i agree with it.
1. The dog changed breed 2. The kobolds have human quality equipment 3. Some units now have bare chests 4. Zombies now have shards for some reason 5. The colours of the floors are worse and sometimes plain
Those were the dalaran zombies, not regular ones. There are also normal zombies as well lol. I guess the shards are cuz of the mana/magical kingdom of dalaran
If only they brought back the old character selection. It was filled with the Ogres and even some lesser races like the Gnolls and Kobolds, you could even be a wolf if you wanted, but no animals if they did bring it back. This shows that if given time, the characters can be a new racial addition, it would be absolutely cool to see those skeletons if the Necromancer class was made, would be cool to use Kobolds and Gnolls to be a 'neutral' race, OOOO! Neutral race tree! Just like the pandaren except is a separate race line filled with these critters and troublemakers. Even being able to use the Golems as well can be great to see. And might I add, all the updates on the animals, especially the Kodos is great, can't wait to see if they will to an entire remodel of the game itself, making everything ever more realistic and terrifyingly cool.
I see people complaining that the models don't have the charm and are "over detailed". As for the charm,i guess i must agree, the closest the models are to the OG ones, the more charm they had. Although i must remind you that,if they dared to make something so close to the old ones, they'd get mocked that "NO DETAILS YOU ARE USELESS" and reforged would be a complete failure, while now the models can save it and pull it from instant doom. But yeah, they don't got this OG feeling. As for over detailed,no,it is well balanced: not too much for the not that good PCs but not completely rubbish, give the credit they deserve.
the mod keeps the original looks to the W3 models but makes it more 3D while the reforged version completely changes the looks of each unit while also making it more 3D its like Reforged was trying to 1up the mod and when they were finished with the product they forgot what game they were making
(Hmm, right off the back, I have issues. Why does the bandit look like a barbarian? Barbarians are good unit designs, don't get me wrong, but that is a more or less complete departure from what that unit is supposed to represent. There's a world of difference between a warrior raiding for his tribe, and a thug looking to make a profit, after all. There are others who look much more like the thugs I'd expect though, so not a net loss I don't think, not there at least. Except for the Bandit Lords. They just straight up made them rampaging barbarians... yeah, that's just a complete loss. I liked what they did with the dark mages though. And aside from the clipping, I really like those zombies... and ghosts... ... seems like they've done a better job with Undead who aren't the Scourge than they've done with the Scourge... for some reason. And I don't remember what those creepy sludge monsters are called, but dang it if they don't look nice and scary. ... What the heck did they do to the water elementals though? I mean those ARE supposed to be water elementals right? Made out of water? It's frankly hard to tell... ... And okay, seriously, what's with all the good undead horrors being reserved for NOT The Scourge? I might be a bit biased but DANG... that Flesh Golem looks intimidating. I do think they overdid it on the skull decorations though. Golems don't really care about aesthetics, it would have had no reason to hang those up on itself, and I don't think a crazy flesh golem creating mage would hang up three random skulls instead of, say, more stabby bits. That's just my opinion though. All in all... well, more of the same really. Some I find really cool, and others... just make me sigh. Also, just realized, I haven't seen, and can't find, your Part 2 showcase... huh, that's a pity. Did it get taken down?)
I was wondering myself. Why did they use barbs for the bandits haha, its kind of odd right? The water elementals are from Dalaran, so i think they just used an arcane model/unit instead of the basic water elemental one (also, this new look will fit more for Dota). There are already water elementals, so i guess they dont wanna repeat them. More unique models i guess? I need to double check how they are called but yea, that's what i was thinking ;p P.s. The part 2 is there, i made a play list and it should all be there. Either in the Warcraft playlist or the Comparison videos one?

While the new graphics certainly look nice and clean, it's unfortunate they seem to have decided to completely change the art style. Warcraft 3 visual design was cool, but it was also charmingly campy and really helped it feel distinctive. Most of these updated/new designs feel like they could fit in almost any modern fantasy game setting where realism and grimdark reigns supreme.
Honestly, most of the "reforged" models don't look like they belong in Warcraft. The aesthetic has shifted a lot. Most models have a very generic fantasy feel to them.
Yea, 99 % of the people share your comment. I also do. It all seems very generic and not warcrafty at all. I still like them, but i wish they had that WC3 feel/magic.

@@RandomGuy-uj4hn Yep, because they are supposed to be like rogues or bandits. I guess they went for a new look. As a whole, reforged went for a new look for sooo many units. Many things are 100% new and different and don't match with the original looks.
I guess cus its the WC3 engine from 2002. They just added new textures and models/animations. I dont think they can add new effects like SSAO without more work. I even wonder if its a DX 9 or 11/12 game lol.
Don't worry, they just added bandits and knights. Both are in game now, they just replace the knights cuz they are supposed to be bandits and not knights lol. They are fixing a warcraft 3 problem basically.
So bad even the first units show they messed up. The old models got this very clear thug like look. The new models just follow this viking nonsense principle.
Yes. It's very strange how they decided to make the rogue/thug/bandit like units into Vikings/chaos warriors from the Warhammer universe. I never understood some of their reasons for the art. Warcraft has Vikings and they live in the North. No Vikings ever went to Lordaeron and the human lands. Vikings are not even humans in the Warcraft lore. Its all weird to me, and it does not fit.

Yea, i was checking WoW yesterday and it looked so Blurry... omg
MAN, those banshees look AMAZING.
And those sludge monstrosities... with the dryad... Enough interwebs for today!
Better than the WoW ones :P
I wish those banshees would replace the low textured ones of WoW.
(P.s. i had to do it, did u see what the monsters were doing on their own!! It was too easy!)
Can't wait to see the Chosen Ones reforged... Great campaign.
Indeed :)
9:42 Now I'm a real boy!
Haha yea xD The old kids look like dolls or some kind of goblins lool
*force attack*
The children models are what nightmares are made of.
Hah, especially their empty eyes
awwwwwww I will miss the old Iron golems, but the new still very cool!
and of course, long live the new bandits! thats guys look serious dangerous and lethals!
I know what did you do with that venoms dude ;)
and holy shit, that what I call a flesh golem
a coño que tambien hablas español xd
The flesh golem is the real deal :D Finally he looks fleshy and golemy and cool. Shame for the old Iron golems. The new ones are just stone ones.
@@Starfals ooooo I'm happy to compart same opinions with you nwn!
WC3 next to Reforged is like the literal definition of the Soul v Soulless meme
Haha, ye, so many people said that.
Bandit 1, Madmax called, they want their outfit back.
Lol ye, i wanna watch that now too lol :P
Warcraft 3 (2002) is the best in my opinion because I grew up on this game I used to love this game every weekend for 3-4 hours playing it was a lot of fun
It was a ton of fun back in the day yeah ;p Same here
BTW, nice name!
Not gonna lie, I was not ready for that Sludge Monster and Centaur
I wasnt either, and i made the video LOL
That razor looking ones are great plus ot is amazing that they are the base models for modern dota 2.
So far, the only thing thats confusing about dota 3 reforged is, the icons lol :D The models are great
7:17 nostalgia starts
0:26 Well, at least Warhammer Fantasy Battles map dont need custom models anymore. At least fo Chaos Northeren tribes.
Yepp, they are all great now :D We just need demonic units to fill their ranks(those twisted units)
@@Starfals thanks for replying to everybody :)
Good discussions going on
whats this is chaos marauder 0:20
Blood for the blood god?
THE CHAOS ARE RISING!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
1. The dog changed breed
2. The kobolds have human quality equipment
3. Some units now have bare chests
4. Zombies now have shards for some reason
11:58 In reforged they look like enigma in dota2.
Yea totally lol, maybe its cuz we need enigma in dota 1/3
@@Starfals Haha.:)
It's weird how the mod doesn't necessarily look better but looks way closer to WoW than reforged does.
Indeed. Its more warcrafty
That Chaos marauder in a blizzard game is very fitting lol
For the chaos gods (of Lordaeron)!
That one time at bandit camp...
HAHAHA WC3 PRON XDDDD very good one, like
I see people complaining that the models don't have the charm and are "over detailed".
Fun fact : the Darker version of Knight Is the Bodyguard of lord Garithos
the mod keeps the original looks to the W3 models but makes it more 3D while the reforged version completely changes the looks of each unit while also making it more 3D
its like Reforged was trying to 1up the mod and when they were finished with the product they forgot what game they were making
Haha ye, its like 50 different gams and most of the things dont have the WC3 vibe
I didn't know the Vikings of Sweden were in reforged
They are! They moved to Lordaeron!
@@Starfals I thought they were supposed to invade England before the battle of hastings XD
Excuse me. I wanna know where can I download the "WC3 MOD"? Thanks a lot.
Check for Rebirth on moddb :) It comes first
and no problem
@@Starfals OIC. Thanks for responding. You are so kind.
I need to double check how they are called but yea, that's what i was thinking ;p
P.s. The part 2 is there, i made a play list and it should all be there. Either in the Warcraft playlist or the Comparison videos one?
Oh wait, Part 2 was taken down for some reason, i'm gonna upload it tomorrow again.. hmm. Shame, it had like 100k views and a ton of comments. All gone now :X
@@Starfals (Ah, dang it UA-cam... probably a bot or the like, or whatever it is, I'm sorry that happened. I'm glad to know I didn't just bizarrely overlook it though. I look forward to seeing it when it's up again!)
Look like the horde are welcoming humans in their rosters.
those water elementals look more like the voidcaller warlock pet :-/
kinda wish hthey wouldve kept the wow style though (like in the mod). it feels almost like an entirely different IP now that they leaned more towards realism than toony
Yea, but also the voids are like the pets, and they are supposed to be a skeleton like shadow. Its all weird now LOL
Chaos consume us-
Wait a minute
HA! Wrong universe xD! (i should tell that to Blizzard as well)
@1:25 is green bereth from commandos
Damn, the design and graphics are sooooo good! And it's only beta. Love blizzard for making such an effort.
At least one person likes the new graphics xD Most people seem to be so negative.
But the custom maps plays like poop
Bandits could be literally a viking faction
I'm down for that ;p
So you uploaded it.
Yep i guess i did? Lol, took me ages
damn, you really made those female centaurs' day)
I mean the new assassin model looks pretty cool. I do like that they added more variety with the mobs but the execution wasnt the best
They should definitely Change all the void/ elemental Models in reforged. They all look like some kind of slimr/flesh Mixture.
Indeed, it badly needs to be udpated
Bandits now look like god damn marauders. instead of bandits. I like the older ones lol. The cultists look badass though.
what video editor was used for this? i like the way it switches to the next units :3
Its Filmora and thanks! Some people didnt like that but i do soo lol :P
@@Starfals haha! thanks! if i will ever try to make a movie i will download it
The flesh golem head shouldnt be like this.it looks so ugly. Unless there should be the helmet add and only the teeth going out like in 2002.but now it is bald man
Yea its odd lol
While the new graphics certainly look nice and clean, it's unfortunate they seem to have decided to completely change the art style. Warcraft 3 visual design was cool, but it was also charmingly campy and really helped it feel distinctive. Most of these updated/new designs feel like they could fit in almost any modern fantasy game setting where realism and grimdark reigns supreme.
I also dislike the new style, the old one was better, even the one in Heroes. Oh well, the new graphics at least look good.
3:00 THE GOLEMS ARE SO HAPPY HAHA
10:30 lol

Reforged : VIKINGS
i much prefer the mod version and I think that's what the players would want as well just make it a bit more clean
to think this was just a fan proyect, I thank blizzard for being wise enough to support this :3 I can't wait for reforge
Reforged was a fan project? Really? or what do u mean lol
Idk but i think bandit units would also perfectly applied as Vrykuls
That's what my friend said too, and you guys are not wrong. They look A LOT like Vrykuls. Tall barb-like humans. Not very bandity tho..
@@Starfals that's what exactly what i think!
Before reforged model released i always think that they'll look more like syndicate mobs in Alterac, shady and look more "human", not like barbaric-half orcish grunt-with overly testosterone guy.
@@RandomGuy-uj4hn Yep, because they are supposed to be like rogues or bandits. I guess they went for a new look. As a whole, reforged went for a new look for sooo many units.
Many things are 100% new and different and don't match with the original looks.
Man, we are get more heroes in defense of the ancients
You know it! :P Dota all day long incoming
Kobold: You no take Candle!
Hah, thats right ;p
The Shepherd like dogs turned into pitbulls.
Haha yea, a totally new kind of dog lol
The WC3 HD MOD locks more Detained than Reforged. KEK
Why in reforge there is no SSAO at least? Looks wierd, and underdeveloped.
I guess cus its the WC3 engine from 2002. They just added new textures and models/animations. I dont think they can add new effects like SSAO without more work. I even wonder if its a DX 9 or 11/12 game lol.
@@Starfals Thats a shame, only new models and sounds not what i expected.
Actually the knight units, doesnt look knightly now, they looks more lika a bandits
Don't worry, they just added bandits and knights. Both are in game now, they just replace the knights cuz they are supposed to be bandits and not knights lol.
They are fixing a warcraft 3 problem basically.
1:53 is that rabbit from World of WarCraft? oO
Lol, the Reforged bandit with axe looks like a Chaos Marauder from Warhammer Fantasy
for some reason, i thought the reforged bandit from the thumbnail was a vrykul
skeletons! they're spooky, they're scary... skeletons!
Skellies are scarry :O
So bad even the first units show they messed up. The old models got this very clear thug like look. The new models just follow this viking nonsense principle.
Yes. It's very strange how they decided to make the rogue/thug/bandit like units into Vikings/chaos warriors from the Warhammer universe. I never understood some of their reasons for the art. Warcraft has Vikings and they live in the North.
No Vikings ever went to Lordaeron and the human lands. Vikings are not even humans in the Warcraft lore. Its all weird to me, and it does not fit.
