The Dexcom is a continuous glucose monitor! It measures blood sugar. People with diabetes need to know how much sugar is in their blood so that they can take insulin to help bring that sugar to their cells! If you don't have type 1 diabetes, your body makes insulin by itself and does all the math for you. If you do have type 1 diabetes and use a cgm, you will see a number that represents how much sugar is in your blood, and then you will calculate how many carbs you eat (and other factors) and then you will give yourself insulin through an insulin pump or shot! Lmk if that answered your question!
Yay! We love hearing from fellow T1Ds! We have a great community of people who share this disease, and it definitely makes life more exciting! :) Have you tried our tapes yet?? Why not pair your pump/CGM with our fun tapes!? Our tapes make your devices look AMAZING!! Check them out here: bit.ly/ExpressionMedHome
Im getting a insulin pump next month and I was wondering if it’s easy to sleep with one on? This video is awesome!. I’ve been a T1D since the age of 9.
If your blood sugar is doing fine, then yep i find it's easy to sleep with a pump. I clip my pump to the waistband of my pyjamas, or put it beside me. Just make sure you're not lying on your infusion site, and if you change sleep position, you get used to moving your pump
The Tandem slim is very nice sleeping with since it’s so small and has such a nice shape, I’ve been a T1D since the age of 4 but got the tandem a year ago!
It is pretty easy and nice but I do prefer to take it off my pants and just let it lay on the bed because sometimes it digs into my skin, but other people like different to just try it and see what you like
That's great to hear! Sleeping with an insulin pump can take some getting used to, but many people find it comfortable. It's important to find the right placement and position that works for you. Sweet dreams! 💙
I have T1D. I know it doesn’t matter to some. But, what color do you like the most for the insulin pump? (Pink, gray, blue) I recently got the blue pack and it’s cute
I’ve been using the tandem pump for about 2 years (I was diagnosed when I was 10, I’m almost 14) and I am switching to the pod js bc I don’t rly like the tubing all over
This is an insulin pump for type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong disease where the pancreas produce little to no insulin which regulates glucose levels in the blood or ‘blood sugar levels’. Diabetics use devices like this or similar tube free devices to help regulate glucose levels in the body and keep it at normal or as close to normal as possible. Insulin can also be given in shots but as of modern days people are more likely to use pumps. Diabetics also use finger pricks and CGMs (continuous glucose monitors) to monitor their blood sugar levels. These devices detect and monitor blood sugar levels and warn the patient when they need more insulin. I am a 13 year old T1 diabetic who uses the dexcom g6 (cgm) and the omnipod dash (pump) for my diabetes. I was diagnosed at 1 and I have been doing this my whole life. Hope this clears things up 😃
Hi there! The item in the video is called ExpressionMed tape. It's used to secure and decorate diabetes devices. We have over 300 designs to choose from! 💙💪🏽😊
Just got my pump yesterday, I’ve been diabetic my own entire life, and I have never had a pump. I think I can like it if only the insurance will be cooperative.
I need to see this. I’m on the Omnipod 5 and I’m so done. It’s been horrible and can’t wait to try the Medtronic MiniMed™ 780G system. I’m curious how the tubing and site was inserted. Good to know I don’t have to slowly insert it.

I love my tslim my pump site is on my stomach only thing I hate is sometimes the adhesive Weakens so easy I was wondering where did you find a overpatch for it ?
Oh cool I've never actually been brave enough to try using my leg, just my stomach for many years
Same! I'm too scared to try anywhere but my stomach. Do you think if you continue to switch sides will you go insulin resistant?
Locations can vary depending on individual needs. It is important to speak with your healthcare provider before trying any new locations.
I hav ran insulin pump to!!

So sad they have to come out with cosmetic treatment because there's no cure for diabetes.
We can only hope for a cure one day 🙏💙

That's a Tandem Tslim x2.
