Because it's not as funny as the previous two, and the main character is a bit of a c*ck. It is a very good film on its own, but does not compare to what came before it.
It's actually a British Sten MK II SMG, one of the only closest things it could be is a German MP18 from WW1, but it had a wooden stock rather than a metal one on the Sten.
I was a little surprised that there was no mention of Edward Woodward and him being the protagonist of the '80s television show 'The Equalizer'. I loved that show as a kid, and the fact that Woodward played a 180 from his character in the '80s show.
Extra Info: At the fete Hatcher says "take out all the little people and you walk off with the cuddly monkey". Angel takes out the NWA and walks off with Danny at the end of the film. Also, the noise the fruit machine makes is the same as the one in SotD and TWE.
My favourite out of these facts was the one where it was revealed that The Church was a cathedral in real life. So amazing that they edited down in the film, I would never have guessed it. My favourite out of The Cornetto Trilogy is Hot Fuzz. It is just so funny and action packed at the same time.
Hot fuzz is not just 2 random words slapped together because they sound cool... It's slang for the police. Ever since we were kids (over 20 years ago) I have heard it used and used it myself. I think it comes from Hawaii 5-0 which got contracted to just 5-0 then that turned into Fuzz... Where the hot part comes from I'm not sure, I'm not an etymologist. But Hot Fuzz as been around long before this movie.
I think this movie is so comforting and fun due to its symmetry. So many seemingly insignificant lines rehashed with over the top drama, in reverse order. I'll love it forever.
When Nicholas is out jogging on his first morning in Sandford, the car being towed away has the same registration number on it as that drunkenly reversed into him by Danny Butterman the night before, i.e., it's Danny's car.
52: Samson the German Shepard was called Saxon in the movie was only explained you with only one reason on why the name change but there's actually one more. They changed it from Samson to Saxon was to pay homage to the name of Anglo-Saxon where modern England was built on the basis of Saxons from the Germanic tribe of the 500AD before they were conquered by the Normans in 1066 and coincidentally, Samson was a German Shepard thus, "Saxon".
As im a dr.who fan, when ever i see timothy dalton in a movie doing something stupid or annoying, i always find myself saying "god dammit Rassillon..."
& Weaver's last words & he realises the sea-mine is about to explode are "oh no", exactly the same words that ended the Woodward version of "Wicker Man".
Fun fact #102 my mum served her home made soup to Nick Frost and Simon Pegg when they took a break from filming at the tea room where she worked. She had no idea who they were and Edgar Wright sent a message back saying how much he loved her soup while they were filming extra scenes in Surrey.
79 is probably the greatest parallel between the films. Stuck in time. Shaun and Ed stuck in the same rut. The village stuck in time as was said and Gary King being stuck trying to go backwards rather than forwards. Omg I love it
A few of the cast has been in GoT. Inspector Butterman, Sgt Fisher and Arthur Webley are others I know. Be daft to name every role someones played I think. That being said I couldn't finish the whole video so not sure if they're mentioned.
LeeLee Sheward Yes, but Rory McCann is a major cast member. No one is calling for listing the IMDB page for every actor in Hot Fuzz, but Game of Thrones is massively popular, and Rory McCann plays a memorable, larger than life, fan-favorite character.
He also missed a few shawn of the dead ones like i am pretty sure the shoplifter is a zombie and the town in hotfuzz is mentioned over the radio in shwan
This has to be one of the best Police movies I’ve ever seen. Just because it shows not only the action but also the menial work and reports Police Officers have to do and fill out.
Another fact, although not necessarily about this film, is that Oscar Wright (brother of Edgar, artist for Danny's flipbook and DVD collection provider) also drew all the comic book sequences for _Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World_
When taking a shortcut by leaping over the back garden fences, Simon Pegg as Sgt Nicolas Angel did the first three jumps himself with the last somersault jump performed by a stunt double, but it was actually Nick Frost as Police Constable Danny Butterman who crashed through the first fence because he cast a glance behind him that he was the one who performed the stunt himself
Sandford may be the name given to a village used in police training, but here in Somerset there is a real village called Sandford. It lies between Banwell and Churchill a few miles from Weston Super (night) Mare. So it's about 10-15 miles away from Wells. Love the film though.
Hot Fuzz is one of the most intricately written films ever made, and rivals Get Out in terms of clever foreshadowing. Few movies can do setup and payoff so effectively. I also find it amazing that Nicholas had a love interest, but her dialogue was so generic that they could literally cut her and give it to his best friend Danny. I don’t think Hot Fuzz is a love story, but it’s interesting to think it could’ve been one if they hadn’t made it a buddy story.
It's not the first time Wells has been used for filming. The TV series Robin the Hooded Man was filmed in the area and in part Robin leaves Marion's bed chamber and runs down some stone steps. Those steps were in Wells cathedral. I only know because I used to know one of the film crew who also doubles as Michael Praed in some shots.
You needed a translator to converse with PC Walker, Saxon's handler, so you could understand WTF he was saying, but you needed him to translate for old Mr. Webley. English, amirite?
A lot of hot fuzz is filmed in Wells, Somerset (the place Edgar wright went to school) and as someone who spends a lot of time there, it is pretty much a documentary about the people who live in wells and Somerset.
The operations named take down, shake down, break down could be referencing Beverly Hills Cop 2 song when the truck is smashing through the town. Shakedown by Bob Seger.
Additional Fact not mentioned; The Drama teacher ALSO appeared in Dead Right as the Officers Chief-AND according to Edgar the consistent blinking the chief did wasnt in the script- It was just something that he did
The headline, “Short Arm of the Law” is a laugh. In the old days, “short arm” inspections was, in the male dominated US military, ventral disease exams. The shirt arm was, you guessed it!
The bonus fact on #32 is wrong, it's the second smallest in England, it is actually 4th in the UK after St Davids, Asaph (both in Wales) and the City of London
The film also has a lot of masonic and mysticism references as well if you know what you're looking at. Edgar Wright carried on this symbolism into Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
#97 - Aaron A Aaronson was actually the boy taken hostage at the model village by Skinner, not the ginger in the pub.
Yep! Tsk tsk! He even says his own name! 🤦
Also the first person Patty and Selma ring to badmouth Homer
Which is also the reason he appeared last in the credits, because the actors were listed in order of appearance.
Easily one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s the film version of a comfort food to me, ha.

Literally everything in this movie is deliberate and has a deeper significance. It's incredible.
Yesterday on the train the police were walking through the train and about 7 people said to them "mornin angel"

Couldn’t agree more! He’s a legend! My favourite with out a doubt!
When Frank Butterman leaves the shootout in the pub he pulls a face and a REAL lion's roar can be heard. Fact 102.
They should definitely make a second one
They really shouldn’t, the cornetto trilogy don’t really need sequels, they are fine on there own
Actually they shouldn't because if hot fuzz 2 sucks, it will make the original worse in a way
I actually live about 35 minutes drive from Wells and it is a gorgeous city. Tiny as said in the video but gorgeous.
Elliott Sanderson i live in Somerset and we appreciate this film as a ‘farmer film’
