Westerplatte and Stutthoff - Gdansk and Sztutowo, Poland

In December 2023 we spent two weeks in Gdansk, Poland. We had a great time exploring the city and loved our time there. While there we visited nearby Westerplatte and Stutthoff Concentration Camp.
Westerplatte was the location of a Polish Military Transit Depot (WST) from 1926 to 1939. It is the site of the Battle of Westerplatte between Polish and German forces during the invasion of Poland and the first battle of World War II.
Stutthof was the first German concentration camp outside German borders during World War II. It was in operation from September 1939 and until May 1945. It was the last camp liberated by the Allies.
