    I love Hit Film, and I have barely scratched the surface of just what this amazing and affordable program (especially affordable when compared to Adobe After Effects) can do.
    I've said this in many video tutorials where these gorgeous effects are shown: I am constantly amazed at the tools available to Joe or Jane Average Filmmaker to make films (even fanfilm) that seem to rival the big Hollywood FX houses and production companies. :)(especially when compared to Adobe After Effects) (especially when compared to Adobe After Effects)

    Excellent tutorial. Excellent software. Keep up the good work! A tiny tweak that would also add to the realism at about 10:50 would be to change the speeds of each propeller a fraction e.g. 249, 253, 250, 251. :)

    Hallo Calvin, wenn ich dich richtig verstanden habe, bist du aus Deutschland. Ich habe eine Frage, die mich schon seit längerer Zeit beschäftigt. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit. mehrer Szenen mit dem Greenscreen-Effekt in einem einzigen Schritt zu bearbeiten? Es sind immer die gleichen Einstellungen die ich im Composite Shot für jede einzelne Szene anwenden muss und daher sehr mühsam. Ich hoffe du konntest mich verstehen, mein englisch ist nämlich furchtbar schlecht.

    Great tutorial as always, I have a question though: What letterbox dimensions would you guys recommend? I use a 2.5:1 ratio or something like that, but I want to know what would look the best. Also, for some reason when I use different aspect ratios for rendering, UA-cam doesn't let me put in end screens.

    • @FXhome
      @FXhome  6 років тому +1

      There is a build in Letterbox effect which comes with loads of presets. There isn't a "best" option as it's very subjective and depends on the look you'd like your video to have :) That seems very odd, I recommend getting in touch with UA-cam support to see if they can help you out with the end screen.
      - Oli (HitFilm Staff)

    • @Haaris.Qureshi
      @Haaris.Qureshi 6 років тому

      Letterboxing is a creative decision. It’s all down to film theory, so if you want a better idea of how to use them creatively, read online guides, books and listen to director commentary. There are films like Life of Pi that change their aspect ratio through the film for creative reasons.
      UA-cam has also seemed to support videos of various aspect ratios (I’ve only just noticed it, but it’s possible it’s been there longer), so you could just upload your video in that resolution rather than letterboxing it to 16:9.
      Essentially, letterboxes, naturally, are a symptom of aspect ratio, rather than a thing in itself. As in - you’re watching a 16:9 video on a 4:3 screen, so your screen has empty black space (letterbox).
      Personally, the only reason I’d use a letterbox was if I had changing aspect ratios in my film (and so I’d have to export in the largest aspect ratio and then simulate a smaller one when needed) - I do this, for example, if I’m pretending a segment of my video has an ‘old recording’, and I’d pillarbox it to look 4:3. If my entire video was 4:3 is just export it as, but I know some people who will always export in 16:9 and just letterbox regardless to simulate the smaller aspect ratio.
      Tl;dr - letterboxes are essentially to let you simulate smaller aspect ratios where your video can’t or you don’t want it to be that actual resolution. So the one to use is based on the look you’re going for.

    Hey I just downloaded a hit film express and I wanna create an effect similar to one use in Dracula where the guy dissolves into multiple bats how can I get that effects

    • @FXhome
      @FXhome  6 років тому

      That may be quite a tricky effect in Express. In the film that effect will be made up of multiple animated 3D models and particle systems. It would be more possible in Pro but would be a hefty task. Our most recent tutorial would give you some good pointers on starting the effect: ua-cam.com/video/ab8-0vAA8DE/v-deo.html

    Nice tutorial. I haven't used Pro yet but it seems that Blender would do the same job faster. My only problem with Blender is the rendering time. How long it took to render this shot if you don't mind me asking?

    • @ChangorooStudio
      @ChangorooStudio 6 років тому

      I think in a situation like this you can can get a result almost as good with a real time renderer like HitFilm as in Blender. Because we have just one model not interacting with other objects.
      But for more complex shots with a lot of objects I would defenetly go with Blender.

    • @ChangorooStudio
      @ChangorooStudio 6 років тому

      Oh and I belive on my PC with a GTX 1080, one frame of the final shot in HitFIlm took around one second.

    • @rodrigosoares8651
      @rodrigosoares8651 6 років тому

      Rendering times are much faster in Hitfilm, you would never get 1 frame per second in blender although the GTX 1080 helps a lot I'm sure. Thanks for the tutorial.
