    The MIDI shade is hilarious. I don’t find MIDI boring nor do I hate it😂. That would be like hating my hands or vocal chords or any other means of communication. It’s all I have. It’s all there is. MIDI is literally the ONLY way to get electronic musical Instrunents to talk to each other. Now figuring it out is a challenge as you add more gear to your setup, but thanks to videos like yours-not so much. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
    I’ve configured video routers for media production. The experience is far more pleasant and user friendly than anything I’ve found for MIDI.

      @WrvrUgoThrUR I like that analogy!
      Yeah the only other options are "hiring someone to play / do the automation for you" or "writing your own protocol which is probably still going to have to be converted to MIDI anyways" 🤭Best to just embrace what is already there 👍🏻
      I'm hoping that with Midi 2.0 and two way communication we will eventually enter an era where setting up midi becomes a trivial ordeal. But considering adaptation is rather slow it might take a while.

      @@SyntheticFuture Considering when it was invented and where we are now with MIDI it seems to have been one of things we treated like "Well it works well enough, don't muck with it." 🤣 You may have just sold me an iConnectivity MioXL!

    lol, in the studio you should use the daw to control midi routing, not the mio. The issue with usb is because devices connected to the mio need to be usb class compliant. Also the best way to use the mio is via RTPmidi in a remote rack to connect an entire rack of gear via one cable that may be longer than the allowable usb cable length (not midi cable length!). If your going to see latency with the mio its going to be with real time midi messages like clock, etc. not necessarily note data.
