I have a question..are the brakes on the whole time or they are just loose?? Cause when i see them hit the road they seem they have brakes on just that it spins freely after
Aircraft brakes stop a moving aircraft by converting its kinetic energy to heat energy by means of friction between rotating and stationary discs located in brake assemblies in the wheels. Basically even that spin you see is helping to slow down the aircraft, apart from manual breaking.
I flew Boeing 767’s for 18,000 hours. 8,000 hours in smaller jets-for 40 years. We always have manual braking taxiing and takeoff (rejected takeoff) and for landing. Procedure for takeoff is to set the auto brake knob to RTO. That will give you automatic full braking, in case you reject the takeoff at 130 knots. Tap the brakes, auto clicks off and you manually use the toe brakes on top of each rudder pedal. For landing, you apply company policy and assess runway conditions (short, wet, snow etc), then you set the auto brake knob to off, 1 2 or 3. On landing, the main wheel spin up signals the auto brakes to be applied at 1, 2 or 3. To resume manual braking after slow, you rotate the knob to off or you tap the toe brakes on the rudder pedals, they trip off, then the pilot brakes while taxiing.
for all the people wondering about the tire spinning its because that happens when a plane is landing at 140mph but the tires are still it does take a second to respond which is why when a plane lands smoke comes from the tires but if the tires were moving the same speed of the round there would not be any smoke so the reason it was not moving is probably a prototype
Bro is yapping nonsense. The wheel closest to the camera only touched the ground after all the other 3 wheels touched and created the smoke. When that wheel touched the ground, it started spinning instantly because it actually follows laws of physics and not whatever you're talking about lmao.
