It's good to hear that VRAM limitation doesn't affect until 4K resolution, since most of us won't be using that high resolution for years anyways. The VRAM good enough for 95% of the consumers.
@@korosensei3590 4K benchmarks will show the most accurate results even if it is just for academic purposes. Basically calculating the difference in terms of performance as a percentage.
@@korosensei3590 As I said before, if you want to know exactly how faster the 2080 Ti is compared to the 4060 Ti using a percentage, then you need to calculate using 4K data. This is because you have to eliminate CPU bound results something that often happens in both 1080p and 1440p gaming.
I’ve had a 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080, 3090 and now 2080 Ti as I don’t game as much. I can’t comment on the 40 series but I will say I game at 4k and the 2080 Ti is a better card than the 3070 overall it has slightly better performance but the 11gb VRAM helps it massively in games like DOOM Eternal and is the only card that can run it at 4k with raytracing vs the 3070.. the 4060 Ti will choke at 4k whereas the 2080 Ti will put up a fight
Nice video! I wish you would also test the 4060ti against the 2070super because the only video i find about it is very sketchy and the results fell kinda wrong.
I don't consider 'fake-frame/illusion generator' a "feature", so to me it's clear what the actual better performing card is in the end. Thanks for the video!
@@corndog9482 You can always undervolt 2080ti and OC memory. I have the same Gaming X Trio 2080ti and I'm running 1800MHz@0.825V, +1000MHz mem OC. Power consumption dropped from 300W to 220W. Performance is about the same. 11GB of Vram gave 2080ti new life. Just check used market and its now more expensive than the 3070.

@@Rogerkonijntje That TU102 chip scales really well with power - I've gone the other direction by running mine at 330W and undervolting. So I get a 10% FPS increase for 10% more power with mine running at 2050mhz/1.025V
Mine was at 1650 when loaded. Now with the undervolt i get 1800+ and less power. 0.825v Thermal issues. Dual cooler setup. Might need a repaste @@tourmaline07

my guess is the 4060ti is going to win overall, but there may be cases where the 2080ti is smoother due to the VRAM and memory bus. And that will only exacerbate at 4k.

@@Jansn Yeah. Frame generation is pretty misleading considering it has its cons and many people would never ever want to use it anyway even if they could.
unfortunately, the 4060 ti outperforms the 2080 ti by a tiny bit. and its just not including dlss3 and frame generation, the rtx 4060 ti is the way to go from either of both sides.

İt outperforms RTX 2080 too, İ think on DLSS plus Ray Tracing scenarios the difference is even bigger, it comes close to a 2080 Super, but İ just tought that RTX 2080 Ti əas too premium to be beaten by a middle/high end card, mainly on 4K. İ əas ərong, though. İmpressive!

Still we gotta admit the efficiency evolution (performance per watt) is impressive nearly half the consumption for the same performances
The REAL difference will appear when testing at 4K or higher. The VRAM limitations of the 4060 Ti are not manifested at 1440 or 1080p.
