Absolutely awesome capture of the Big Boy 4014 through California especially going uphill at Sullivan's Bend combining this spectacular train with magnificent geology. Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia and I just subscribed to your channel.
If the Union Pacific steam team was able to get the 4014 out of retirement, how come they didn't get the Union Pacific 4005 out of retirement? then there would be 2 big boy locomotives?
These shots are absolutely thrilling. I chased the Big Boy along US 30 in Iowa this last summer and got some nice still shots, but these videos are amazing. Will the Big Boy ever go past my house in Applegate CA on the Donner Pass Route?
i know the cops had fun writing tickets cause railfans were speeding or blocking traffic reckless driving rumor was some railfans were arrested for what I don't know and that place where you supposed to get on a shuttle bus to Colton never showed or I got lost and went to wrong area lol
Dude at 24:46 wondering where a drone was should've either kept his mouth shut or whisper that sentence to himself. It's common railfan courtesy to shut up and stay silent at a photo line. Been that way for decades. To not abide by that is just ignorant, rude, and disrespectful. The same is to be said when it comes to walking into someone's shot as well.
Excellent camerawork and locations! The telephoto shots of 4014 reversing around curves demonstrated its articulation nicely...really cool.
the Union Pacific passenger train is beautiful
One of the best day to see UP 4014 “Big Boy” running the excursion in SoCal!

Now when you think back to that old Superman intro, "More Powerful than a Locomotive!" I think they had the Big Boy in mind.
Great video bro! I just subscribed! I hope it comes to Northern California
Great footage! Really enjoyed it!
A year later and it's still hard to believe any of this ever happened. But it did!

It is astonishing to think these engines were designed to be coal fired, imagine keeping that in steam at 70mp up a grade.

I saw Unoin Pacific Big Boy 4014 in KS
sera que no seu tempo , a big boy chegou a puxar uns 100 vagões ,isso e claro duas big boys .
36:49 Where that in Niland?
I kind of wonder about the diesel pushers. I think 4014 could pull the east coast to the west coast.
Those diesels are necessary in the case that 4014 fails. This was especially prominent when it almost ran out of water.
20:44
Jesus Christ how many coaches are there
UP passgener P800 as it overtakes BNSF manifest through West Barstow!
P800 will leave Cailfornia for Arizona!

Must have gone to the wrong area, they were picked up in Rancho Cucamonga by the Metrolink station
