Not gonna lie -- I've been an Em fan for 23 years, probably know the the lyrics to his entire first 5 albums by heart, and only just leant that reference lol.
I noticed after having listened to EM for like a year, then went and listened to all kinds of oldschool Hip-hop for like 2 years, that there are a lot of lines or versions of lines from other artists in his music. The Way I Am Hook is also a play off Rakim bars.

He don't deserve a lot of the hate the new generation gives him. He never used hip hop to poison the youth for his own benefit the same way a lot of the artists today have used hip hop.
