For my iCloud People: If there is no Plugin showing the error but a video or photo in your timeline, check if the original file lays in your iCloud. I had the original footage stored in my iCloud which was then automatically uploaded to the server and thereby "DELETED" on my Mac. Result: Final Cut couldn't reach those files since they were no longer 'physically' on my Mac and FCP showed exactly this "Plugin error" (even though it wasn't one). Solution: Go to the video/photo showing the error --> right click it --> "show in finder" --> re-download it from iCloud if it's uploaded The error is then solved and I didn't even need to re-open Final Cut. This can save you A LOT of time re-downloading all your Plugins if there is no indication that a Plugin is the cause for this error. Love and "Gutes Gelingen" from Germany :-)

So I added mlut. I applied a Lut to a couple of clips. Then I realized mlut had been making FCP freeze. I supposedly removed the LUT and tried to delete mlut but then the clips I applied it to previously gave me this red error and won’t come back unless I bring mlut back. The problem is I don’t want the mlut loader. Please help?
You nailed it bro. I renamed my Titles folder and didn't add .localized. Because the .localized extension doesn't show in finder, it was hard to debug this problem, until you mentioned it at 2:45. Thanks man

So sorry for the delayed response! I am not sure...I would say updating to the current version of Final Cut Pro is a good idea, but I don't know what specs you have on your computer and don't want to make it slow. I am sorry I wasn't much help!
Great info, but does not address audio plug-ins. I'm having trouble with iZotope RX Advanced, which works in FCPX, but the plugins seem to crash in FCPX while rendering out via Compressor. In general, while I know video scratch files are rendered inside FCPX before the handoff to Compressor, I don't see the breadcrumbs or an indication of rendering in FCPX while doing audio mastering on the master compound clip at the final stage of completing a FCPX project, or if the render occurs in real time during output after being invoked by Compressor.
This just pops up every other day for me now… biggest stress I’ve ever had to deal with, I’m up to 180 hours spent on this project and I get this every other hour, so done with Final Cut Pro, running about 60 different plugins currently
Hey man, I actually bought the PFS Stabalizer 2.0 and my mac is up to date, the files/folers are all localized, they are in the right folder, etc etc but I still am getting this red screen error. I don't want to have wasted like $50+ for something I can not even use. I would love to get some help and assistance from you so I can fix this issue, much appricated.

WOW thanks for this! I read through the comments and it seems that Big Sur is the culprit for a lot of us (and I thought I was doing a good thing updating my computer....ha!). For one of my FX factory titles, uninstalling and reinstalling did the trick. But my Pixel Film Studios ones still won't work. Any advice?

I hope you are doing well. There was actually an update today so the newest version for Final Cut Pro X is 10.5 - However, I don't think that is the issue. I have had various people reach out and say they are missing certain effects or transitions. Quit out of Final Cut Pro X by hitting Command Q and head over the the apple icon in the top left of your computer and select restart...this fixed the issue for a few people. Head back into final cut pro x, select effects or hit command 5 to open the effects panel, make sure you select all and in the search bar at the bottom search for fish eye or fun house. If they still don't appear please send me an email or WhatsApp message. I have the comment pinned where you find that information. I hope this helps!
Hi, I’m using FCP on the new Mac Mini M1 and Big Sur and today purchased a plug-in from Pixel Studios. After installation I got the dreaded red screen. I followed all their support tutorials but no success. There’s no support from them on the weekends unfortunately. I assume their plug-in isn’t compatible with my setup. Disappointing as I need to get something completed this weekend :( Any advice or do I just wait for them to do a plug-in upgrade. Thanks!
I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do...the error would be from pixel films end. I would double check that your computer meets the minimum requirements for the plug-in. You can find that on their site and if that is all good then you probably have to wait for them to get back to you. I have had a lot of people message me after the Big Sur update with issues so hopefully the issues will continue to be fixed by Apple and plug-in creators. If you need anything else let me know
Thanks for the reply Juan. I did have an idea... I still have FCP on an iMac running an older OSX. Tomorrow I’ll try exporting the project from my new FCP, copying it over to the old Mac, installing the plug-in there and see if that works. Worth a try I guess :)
FOR EVERYONE WHO UPDATED TO BIG SUR AND YOUR PIXEL FILM STUDIOS PLUG INS ARE NOT WORKING - I fixed this issue by going into motion templates folders and deleting all the plugin folders , redownloading, moving the plug in folders back into their specific folders in motion templates & clicking reinstall. Now they are all working fine. :) Hope this helps!
You aren’t the only one! I have received messages from a good amount of people with the same issue. Quit out of Final Cut Pro, make sure you have no pending updates and restart your computer...let me know if that fixes it. I know it worked for a few people
I installed the auto tracker. 1 layer appears in the titles section, but all the options on the right window has red circles on it and I can't do any adjustments!
@@juanfernino hi, yes it is. I successfully installed the contents. I checked into the resources files and the folders are inside the correct locations - generators and titles. But alas, I only see the titles segment, and if I drop it in, it shows text that I can write. But I see red circles on the inspector on the right. I also don't have the other features I'd have expected like drop zone and stuff. I have tried all your suggestion. Any idea?
@@faisalali2001 it seems like your computer might not have all the requirements...double check that the system requirements for the auto tracker are what your computer has
I was having similar issue and it turned out that the issue was cause because I renamed the plug-in folder, while my FCPX was opened. After I closed FCPX, reinstalled the plug-in without renaming it ... all was working fine :) so I guess, your suggestion to reinstall the plug-in helped solve my issue. :)
Unfortunately PFS limits how many times you can download the installer files. Best to download them once, save the folders offline and reinstall using the those files.

Plug-in titles and transitions or the ones that come with Final Cut Pro? You aren’t the only one...I have gotten a good amount of messages from people also experiencing issues after upgrading to Big Sur. Try restarting your computer and if the titles and transitions that aren’t working are plugins, I would delete, download again and re-install

I hope you are doing well! I am assuming you are using Pixel Films Tracker 2.0? I am not sure...are you maybe placing the 4K tracker and editing on a 1080 Timeline? That is the first thing that comes to mind

Make sure your computer meets the system requirements for the plugins...that is the most common mistake. I have made the mistake myself...you can also DM me through Instagram and I can try to help out - @juanfernino
Unfortunately the M1 chips seems to be a bit tricky with plugins. The process is the same, but it just depends if the plugin has been updated to be compatible with M1...Pixel film studios and Motion VFX are working hard to update their plugins to be compatible for the M1, but not all of them are yet!

I am sorry you are having that issue! I think you will lose your settings…maybe not, but unfortunately I think that would be the case…I would take pictures of the settings

Hey Juan, Wondering if you have some insight into running Final Cut Pro and an Audio Workstation (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Etc.) on the same computer. The pervasive problem seems to be the AU (audio unit) plug ins are not "passing AU validation." There is a conflict between many audio plug in's and FC PRO. Simply moving audio components out of their home 'Library>Audio' Folder does not work like many online have suggested BUT after uninstalling all of my audio plug ins I am able to get FC PRO functioning. Do you know of any simple workarounds for this issue or software that can do this task of juggling back and forth or skipping the audio units FCPRO is looking for? This may be worth making a video on because it seems that audio engineers/producers like me are out of luck using FC PRO on their DAW rig.

Update So after going through the comments on artlist. It looks like they want us to drag and drop each transition effect etc into our timeline for it to work. 😬 It’s not the best but after dragging the file into my timeline the transition did work
Hello, I am on FCX 10.4.9 under OS Catalina, the plugin is MPrism with is mostly .moef files, I has tried all of the suggestions from this video but no luck.
Does anyone know of plug ins that are optimized for the M1 chip? Pixel Film Studios Plug ins do NOT work with Apple silicone. Huge disappointment. I do all my projects with them and now I'm left with no titles, transitions etc. UGH!
Me and my friend use the 10.4.4 version, and when he sends me a file, all the standart effects "Drop Shadow" that he made doesn't work, the red warning appears. Does somebody knows something about this situation? Thank you.
Is there a reason you haven't updated Final Cut Pro? The current version is 10.5.2, but I am not sure if that might be the reason....I would also check the graphics card in your computer....if it is below 1 GB some effects could potentially not work
@@juanfernino I don't think the update is the problem, because the library that my friend sent to me, was also made in the 10.4.4, that's why he asked me to not update. Actually I just realized that there are more Effects and Titles that are missing or not working in Final Cut of this computer. There is some error, i dont'1 know...
what to do if your build in effects are missing? For example: i have my keyer effects missing entirely from effects menu bar. It's only written in the upper right corner "keyer" but on the screen is "file missing. I use the "90 days trial" life hack. Is it because of it? Because this things happens from time to time. Like some effects randomly disappear from Final Cut and then appear in like a few days. Like WTF??? What can i do? Can you suggest me something? (Pls don't say "buy a full version" i don't have that type of money)

I clicked view optimized media and my file was missing from the time line. I used no plugin on the clip and I can't get it to come back. I have tried to reload the file several times. Any Ideas? I'm stressing on my deadline.

@@mrleelangford unfortunately it is very common for these issues to appear with plugins after an OS update...always restart your computer as a first step, delete plugins that are not functioning and re-install

I have Final Cut Pro X 10.4.10 and when I try to open it seems to be stuck at validating Audio Units, It never opens it just stays there I left it for an hour and nothing changed. I don't understand when it worked before with no issues.
@@juanfernino on this Mac with Mojave I have the latest version that it can take. It’s a plug-in issue. I found that if I rename the Components folder and then launch Final Cut Pro after doing that it opens fine.

I NEED HELP PLEASE~~~~ I imported file, and i DON"T KNOW WHY for some reason, my orginal-file in my hard drive got deleted ( is it normal?????) , and now the file is in the library of FCPX and in the timeline. but in my hard drive where the original source is , is GONE!!!! HOW DO I MOVE the file back to HARD DRIVE? ( i first save all my videos in a hard drive) --- imported in FCPX for editing , but i didn't want to lose the original copy. now luckily the videos are in the timeline AND in the final cut pro "library?" but how do i move those BACK to my hard drive as in the original -video file.
I completely understand what you are saying. It shouldn’t happen, but the only way to move the file from Final Cut Pro to the hard drive again is by exporting that single file. I would export it as pro res 422 to have it at the highest quality. Is it a bit vídeo file?

@@alcamorim Well if they were plug-ins then you had to of got them from Pixel Films, Motion VFX or other sites. So you would have to sign-in to your account on those sites and re-download. Do you have the paid version of Final Cut Pro X or a trial version?
@@alcamorim I gotcha. If those are missing I would delete Final Cut Pro X and download again to see if that fixes it. As long as you have the paid version that shouldn't be a problem, because the purchase will be recorded on your iCloud account. Other than doing that I am not sure why the effects that come with Final Cut Pro would be missing. Sorry if that isn't much help.

Make sure your plug-in folders are directly on your computers hard drive...if you are saving them on iCloud Drive, or any external hard drive they won’t work...if you still have problems just DM me through Instagram and I can help

I have never been a fan of mlut because it also caused me to have so many issues. I not sure what the fix could be. I hope you are able to fix it

All my generators get stucked at "Selecting source clip" and then nothing happens. I have FCPX 10.4.9 and Mojave. Any idea?

My cross dissolve transition disappeared from my list in FCPX!!! Any idea how I can get it back?
You aren’t the only one! I have received messages from a good amount of people with the same issue. Quit out of Final Cut Pro, make sure you have no pending updates and restart your computer...let me know if that fixes it. I know it worked for a few people
I installed the auto tracker. 1 layer appears in the titles section, but all the options on the right window has red circles on it and I can't do any adjustments!
Is it pixel films auto tracker?
@@juanfernino hi, yes it is. I successfully installed the contents. I checked into the resources files and the folders are inside the correct locations - generators and titles.
But alas, I only see the titles segment, and if I drop it in, it shows text that I can write. But I see red circles on the inspector on the right. I also don't have the other features I'd have expected like drop zone and stuff. I have tried all your suggestion. Any idea?
@@faisalali2001 it seems like your computer might not have all the requirements...double check that the system requirements for the auto tracker are what your computer has
I was having similar issue and it turned out that the issue was cause because I renamed the plug-in folder, while my FCPX was opened. After I closed FCPX, reinstalled the plug-in without renaming it ... all was working fine :)
so I guess, your suggestion to reinstall the plug-in helped solve my issue. :)

Unfortunately PFS limits how many times you can download the installer files. Best to download them once, save the folders offline and reinstall using the those files.

After upgrade to big sur, lot of my titles and transitions are not working.
Plug-in titles and transitions or the ones that come with Final Cut Pro? You aren’t the only one...I have gotten a good amount of messages from people also experiencing issues after upgrading to Big Sur. Try restarting your computer and if the titles and transitions that aren’t working are plugins, I would delete, download again and re-install
Hey Juan this is a great video. My problem is a note that pops up "This video is not supported, please try to optimize this video and track again." when hit the run button. My video says its optimized but still no go. What would cause this? Thank you in advance.
I hope you are doing well! I am assuming you are using Pixel Films Tracker 2.0? I am not sure...are you maybe placing the 4K tracker and editing on a 1080 Timeline? That is the first thing that comes to mind

Make sure your computer meets the system requirements for the plugins...that is the most common mistake. I have made the mistake myself...you can also DM me through Instagram and I can try to help out - @juanfernino

Unfortunately the M1 chips seems to be a bit tricky with plugins. The process is the same, but it just depends if the plugin has been updated to be compatible with M1...Pixel film studios and Motion VFX are working hard to update their plugins to be compatible for the M1, but not all of them are yet!

I have a question .. if I have a plug-in(s) that I've been using in fcpx and it becomes problematic and I need to uninstall and re-install the plug-in(s), will I loose all the settings that I created for that plug-in(s) or will they remain intact? I am sorry you are having that issue! I think you will lose your settings…maybe not, but unfortunately I think that would be the case…I would take pictures of the settings

Hey Juan, Wondering if you have some insight into running Final Cut Pro and an Audio Workstation (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Etc.) on the same computer. The pervasive problem seems to be the AU (audio unit) plug ins are not "passing AU validation." There is a conflict between many audio plug in's and FC PRO. Simply moving audio components out of their home 'Library>Audio' Folder does not work like many online have suggested BUT after uninstalling all of my audio plug ins I am able to get FC PRO functioning. Do you know of any simple workarounds for this issue or software that can do this task of juggling back and forth or skipping the audio units FCPRO is looking for? This may be worth making a video on because it seems that audio engineers/producers like me are out of luck using FC PRO on their DAW rig.

I’m getting the missing plugin error when I switch from proxy back to optimized files. I haven’t installed any plugins so I’m not sure what’s going on. Any ideas?
I hope you are doing well. I am not sure. I personally don't use proxy files so I haven't had that issue...all the transitions are the ones that come with FCPX correct? Is this a new error? It hasn't happened in the past?
@@juanfernino Thanks for the response, its never happened before but I'm using a new library so maybe that's it. Yes I am using all of the transitions that came with FCPX. It is in 4k however, could it be that one of the transitions is not compatible with 4K?

What files are they? They need to be motion files for Final Cut to read them. For example, moti, motr, moef

So after going through the comments on artlist. It looks like they want us to drag and drop each transition effect etc into our timeline for it to work. 😬
It’s not the best but after dragging the file into my timeline the transition did work

Look at the file name. Transitions are .motr - effects are .moef and titles are .moti

Does anyone know of plug ins that are optimized for the M1 chip? Pixel Film Studios Plug ins do NOT work with Apple silicone. Huge disappointment. I do all my projects with them and now I'm left with no titles, transitions etc. UGH!

Me and my friend use the 10.4.4 version, and when he sends me a file, all the standart effects "Drop Shadow" that he made doesn't work, the red warning appears. Does somebody knows something about this situation? Thank you.
Is there a reason you haven't updated Final Cut Pro? The current version is 10.5.2, but I am not sure if that might be the reason....I would also check the graphics card in your computer....if it is below 1 GB some effects could potentially not work
@@juanfernino I don't think the update is the problem, because the library that my friend sent to me, was also made in the 10.4.4, that's why he asked me to not update.
About the graphics card of the computer I'm using, is 1539mb. But I will not use this computer for a long time, so I don't have to worry.

what to do if your build in effects are missing? For example: i have my keyer effects missing entirely from effects menu bar. It's only written in the upper right corner "keyer" but on the screen is "file missing. I use the "90 days trial" life hack. Is it because of it? Because this things happens from time to time. Like some effects randomly disappear from Final Cut and then appear in like a few days. Like WTF??? What can i do? Can you suggest me something?

I clicked view optimized media and my file was missing from the time line. I used no plugin on the clip and I can't get it to come back. I have tried to reload the file several times. Any Ideas? I'm stressing on my deadline.
You are missing a clip from your timeline? Did you import as optimized?

@@mrleelangford unfortunately it is very common for these issues to appear with plugins after an OS update...always restart your computer as a first step, delete plugins that are not functioning and re-install

I have Final Cut Pro X 10.4.10 and when I try to open it seems to be stuck at validating Audio Units, It never opens it just stays there I left it for an hour and nothing changed. I don't understand when it worked before with no issues.

@@juanfernino on this Mac with Mojave I have the latest version that it can take. It’s a plug-in issue.
I found that if I rename the Components folder and then launch Final Cut Pro after doing that it opens fine.

I NEED HELP PLEASE~~~~ I imported file, and i DON"T KNOW WHY for some reason, my orginal-file in my hard drive got deleted ( is it normal?????) , and now the file is in the library of FCPX and in the timeline. but in my hard drive where the original source is , is GONE!!!! HOW DO I MOVE the file back to HARD DRIVE? ( i first save all my videos in a hard drive) --- imported in FCPX for editing , but i didn't want to lose the original copy. now luckily the videos are in the timeline AND in the final cut pro "library?" but how do i move those BACK to my hard drive as in the original -video file.
I completely understand what you are saying. It shouldn’t happen, but the only way to move the file from Final Cut Pro to the hard drive again is by exporting that single file. I would export it as pro res 422 to have it at the highest quality. Is it a bit vídeo file?

@@alcamorim Well if they were plug-ins then you had to of got them from Pixel Films, Motion VFX or other sites. So you would have to sign-in to your account on those sites and re-download. Do you have the paid version of Final Cut Pro X or a trial version?
@@juanfernino I have the paid version . But I don’t use any third party plugins. I am talking about the ones that come standard with fcpx.
@@alcamorim I gotcha. If those are missing I would delete Final Cut Pro X and download again to see if that fixes it. As long as you have the paid version that shouldn't be a problem, because the purchase will be recorded on your iCloud account. Other than doing that I am not sure why the effects that come with Final Cut Pro would be missing. Sorry if that isn't much help.

Make sure your plug-in folders are directly on your computers hard drive...if you are saving them on iCloud Drive, or any external hard drive they won’t work...if you still have problems just DM me through Instagram and I can help

@@juanfernino Only update that is left is to Big Sur. I'm thinking this may be the problem. Im on version 10.4.10. I didn't want to upgrade to Big Sur, but if that fixes it, maybe I will have to
