The main problem on offense in random rec is people don't know what they want to do with the ball, but they just know they want the ball in their hands. They have 0 go to moves and struggle to get open every play.
I feel like the most underrated skill in 2k is playmaking specifically taking the role of pg regardless of position because most people on the game especially in random rec want to be or believe their scorers so if u can run the floor ,dot on time , and know when to attack ur match up the randoms trust u more and they listen to you especially if u ask what how they like to score like catch n shoot, off ball cuts , back doors , positioning them in isos, PnR or pick pop shit even lobs it jus makes the game easier
I agree but my teammates I get in random rec can't even shoot the ball/pass to someone wide open. No way they will be able to do all that unfortunately
2:38 bro i swear to god the other day me and my friend loaded up in squad rec and 2k instantly locked us in with 3 inside 7 footers with no shooting on their build …..🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah that happens way too much. I just got a team with a 6'9, 6'10, and a 7 footer all no shooting. And they were getting mad I was dotting them on the cuts when all 3 of their guys were just sitting in the paint
"content creators" are blessed because they're more accustomed to having consistent squads and good teammates that have played thousands of games with each other. it's generally a toss-up, and often times, players go into the rec with very very new builds. For me, whatever, I just like to play, but it is nice to have teammates that share and space the floor.
I agree, I feel like the majority of 2K players don't have consistent teammates. So I like to play random rec quite a bit for videos because it is more of an accurate gameplay compared to playing with a full squad in park or ProAm
One of the most underrated skill in randoms is patience. If you start forcing shots, then timeouts came on and players got hot on mics talking shit. The game is over.
I shoot 77% from deep with my 85 3pt rating just from taking open catch and shoots. Which makes it more frustrating getting looked off when I’m wide open 😂
There is a decent amount of people who make pure insides with no shooting. I love mine. One thing I’ll say is that ever since Laker has been taking a break, there is NOBODY in the community putting people on game like him. His hiatus is pretty much what forced me to pick a different playstyle more similar to yours.
Bro honestly that works for you because the entire 2K community knows who Tonic is, so they will pass you the ball regardless. But I have a build with high 3pt shooting percentage and I stay in the corners and wings wide open and my teammates in solo rec rarely pass me the ball. And when they do is when they have no other option and by that time the defender has already closed the gap on me and I'm not able to shit.
I'm hoping random rec videos like this get people to play more team ball. I am lucky I get hit a lot when people know who I am. But I still play games where I'm wide open all game and I never get hit. It's not as big of a deal on a center but on a build like this I can't do much else to help the team win other than play defense
Nothing worse in random rec than watching someone go for a contested layup/dunk on 3 defenders and then hearing “no foul 2k?”…
Or "where's my dunk 2k"
Trueeee
🤣 this funny & true af
“Cmon Ronnie!!!!!!”
@@benmorales4740 ye true the amount of times I've heard that

That is true I feel like pgs and centers make their builds to play a specific role but sf, sgs, power forwards struggle playing off ball

My randoms pass me the ball when they are open and I am getting triple teamed 😂

Great video man! Do you have a jumper recommendation for 87 3 on a 6'3 with no patty mills?

Appreciate content like this 🙏🏽🙏🏽 been struggling all year to find my way playing offball after years at PG
It might be the hardest role to play in random rec, you can do everything right and not end up getting the pass when you are finally open
Yup!
The best skil is: each Pg must be a Pass first playmaker and the best defender on the field.
Tonic what’s good, 21K in sight 💪🏿
Yesir what a year it has been
