I definitely remember the Real Sports Football on the Atari 2600. I was so thankful to get it, easily beat out the horrible 3 on 3 football game that was so popular at the time. I loved the Real Sports Football so much, I later went out and bought the Real Sports Baseball. Truly the closest things we had to playing football.
I played qb attack at a friend's as a kid and I owned Sterling Sharpe and Emmitt Smith football respectvitly through good ol' tape trading at school back in the early 90s though I always preferred Tecmo Bowl and Super High Impact the most
10-Yard Fight wasn’t a flop, it was actually very well received and considered very realistic for its time. You have remember it released in arcades in 1983 and on NES in 1985. It was also the only football game for NES until Tecmo Bowl came out in 1987.
Ten yard fight is bad, there's no way around it. I see your point though because there was not anything else to play. But wow it literally is a 10 second fight just to watch your guy run 10 yards... But I respect your opinion because you are not wrong. My first football game was the original Tecmo bowl.
I think of a lot of football games. Madden, NCAA, CFL, AFL, Tour, Backyard, ESPN, Monday Night, Tecmo, Monster, Backbreaker, Blitz, Street, Muntant...SO MANY
Great list, it was cool to see Sterling Sharpe End to End on there. It's one of the better SNES football games, and its only true flaw is that it's waay too easy to run outside. It's a Madden clone that's better than most of the SNES Madden games. NFL Hard Yardage the arcade game is a good choice for this list, assuming it's unknown enough.
Front page sports football for the pc. Good gameplay, create leagues, change colors, rename teams, great stats, make own plays, and other things unheard of back then that Madden still doesn't have.
I remember playing the 2600 hundred game. there was so many football games on the market. That's the sad thing now day's you have no choices in a game, and then the game you do get it gets patched to death, it's MUT over the actual true essence & representing the game of football and continues not to innovate. in reality it's a sad time for American football gaming. and has been for year's.
Wow I've never even heard of those games.Wouldn't have played em any way.Do you remember Sports Talk Football? Then Joe Montana put his name on it.I enjoyed them.
Someone adult video store stole the Tecmo Bowl in fact I know it was a dude that work there cuz he told me a long time ago we went to middle school and high school together anyway so I was relegated to playing NES play action football there was different catty-cornered scrolling game with 18 I was always the Oilers because I had Lorenzo White Warren Moon and anyway it was so fucking janky but yet once I started playing it and you kind of found the essence of the game it was all right except if you stiff arm too much you would surely fumble but it was slow it was real slow anyway I'm not sure if this is all here not cuz I'm just saying this before it gets started there's also some football game that was kind of like Arch Rivals except on the football field but I forget the name of it anyway back to the show
Were there any games in the countdown that you have heard of before?

The only one I'd never heard of was the Jaguar game. Spent a lot of time with RealSports football in the pre-NES days.
I played qb attack at a friend's as a kid and I owned Sterling Sharpe and Emmitt Smith football respectvitly through good ol' tape trading at school back in the early 90s though I always preferred Tecmo Bowl and Super High Impact the most

Mildly surprised not to see 10-Yard Fight on here.
Me and my buddy would play that for a few mins time out...never finish the game and go back to Tecmo or super Tecmo lmao.

Stats85, I had John Elway’s Quarterback on NES, buying it was a big mistake.
@@JmmoffaAgree. The sh*ttiest game I've played in my whole life! :-D
Real Football you could run through the screen backwards with a defender to sack the quarterback from behind lol

I had the Mike Ditka fmv game! Had it on the PC as a kid
Yeah? I want to try it on mobile.
This was back when the CD Rom became a thing and full motion video was all the rage!
Sounds like madden 19 6:45
mike dikta power football for the sega
Should change title to games you haven't heard of if your younger than 30
If you're younger than 30 then you don't know anything outside of Madden or 2K. Why you should just watch and learn.
Well im 40 so...
TV Sports Football on the TurboGrafix 16 was a great game. All of the TV Sports games were awesome.
Super high impact football for the arcade, and eventually Sega and SNES
Front page sports football for the pc. Good gameplay, create leagues, change colors, rename teams, great stats, make own plays, and other things unheard of back then that Madden still doesn't have.
Colecovision football can't remember real name but used to play with my friend who always bragged about his system being strongest compared to Atari.
I remember game day and ESPN football.
Kurt warner arena game was raw idc what nobody say
Nfl pro 15 or mutant football blitz the league is similar to brutal football league
College football national championship on sega genesis

Idk how many have heard of it but I had Troy Aikman Football growing up and I played the hell out of it. I wore out the cartridge for the SNES.
I didn't own a Super Nintendo ,so most of these games are new too me.
What about the Quarterback Club games on SNES
What about play action football for nes?
brian goodie NES Playaction Football was my favorite growing up!
Isn't brutal sports football more like rugby since there isn't really any plays?

Brutal sports football looks more like rugby then football
Super Football for Atari 2600. Emulate it
Why is Mike coaching the Redskins ?
He asked for too much salary from the Bears, so he changed teams.
Wow I've never even heard of those games.Wouldn't have played em any way.Do you remember Sports Talk Football? Then Joe Montana put his name on it.I enjoyed them.
