I actually started my memory keeping in the old, old spiral giant scrapbooks with the ugly brown paper, that you just glued or taped stuff into that you liked, experienced, or received like a greeting card or photo. There really were not decorations for them then and it wasn't really organized. I have always kept diaries or journals, did 12x12, smash books, junk journals, theme journals, glue books, bible journaling, faith dex... I love paper crafting and memories together and especially adding my faith into the mix.
I haven’t done project life or memory keeping in a happy planner, but I have done the others! I am an OG 12x12 scrapbooker that changed to traveler’s notebooks, A5 size journals, monthly memory summary at the end of a month in my bullet journal, to now memory keeping in a hobonichi! 😊 love it all!!
I am a 12x12 scrapper and don't see that changing. Se really years ago I was introduced to the idea of adding memory keeping I to my planner and I've included that ever since. It has always been a part of my regular planner, not an additional planner. I currently use a classic happy planner and at the end of each month I print a few 2x3 or smaller photos that highlight each week-a meal I cooked, grandkids, adventures with my husband, whatever pertains to that week ans they go in my planner for that week with a little journaling. Then I'll print a few larger photos that detail a bigger event and they go on empty pages in my planner. I still scrapbook some of those photos too, to tell the bigger story.
Loved seeing how you have evolved in your scrapbook/ photo album/ memory planner process. I am one who gets soooo behind and never catches up! I really like your 2024 method of adding in a couple pages to your regular planner each month.
It was so fun looking at your albums, especially the first one!! I never did those kinds of memory keeping, but I remember the scrapbooking stores that used to be around here and finding all kinds of cool things to use in my mixed media!! Now I buy pretty much everything on line. I do miss those little shops.
I’m a 12x12 scrapbooker! I’ve tried smaller formats but can’t get my brain to do them. I did a TN month to month most of last year as more of a journal which I liked but then it felt repetitive when going to my 12x12 layouts. I do love listing with Layle as a form of memory keeping too as it captures a moment in time of a topic and allows you to still play with paper!
I'm a 12x12 person at heart but don't plan to have kids or anyone to pass the books to so I have trouble justifying continuing to scrapbook or memory keep. I recognized many of the papers in your first book! I'm considering incorporating highlights into my planner but we'll see where it goes.
First off, you don't have to justify the scrapbooks - if you enjoy creating them, than I say keep doing it. That being said, it is fun to incorporate the memory keeping into your planner!
I haven’t been very consistent with memory across the board. I did some 12x12 scrapbooking in high school. I’ll have to pull it out and share in June. This year I am trying monthly memory keeping in a bujo… but I’m already behind and I’m just not inspired with the concept and lost on how to decorate.
I am overwhelmed. I have been sick for several years. I have 3 baby books for some grandkids I promised my daughter and year I have my family growing up I am 72. How do I start - I want to keep up monthly and yet work in the past. I did print your planner pages. Any feed back?
Focus on the fun of the projects and less on the "having" to get it done. In the end, if it is a chore, it'll suck all of the joy out of creating. Give yourself some grace and permission to take your time!
I remember watching you create some of the memory pages you showed. I’ve been hesitant to start memory planning but watching your videos is giving me that nudge to just get started! 💙💛🪴

I love those more "old-school" scrapbooks - almost like junk journaling!
I’ve done them all…but for the past 5 years, I’ve been memory planning in my Big Happy Planner. Also, I do 6x8 October and December Daily albums.
I love the October & December Daily projects!

It's so fun to look back and see how memory keeping styles have changed through different seasons of life.
Haven't done memory keeping in quite a while. Used to do the 12 x 12 scrapbooking. ⚾️
It would be so interesting just to see how many of us used to do 12x12 scrapbooking. My guess is that it is alot!

Sounds like a wonderful system that you have!

I miss those smaller shops as well!

So awesome!
I do the traditional scrapbooking for memory keeping.
So awesome - such treasures to look back on!
I’m so excited for June!
Me too!

Thank you for sharing all about your memory keeping.
My pleasure!
I still do the 12x12, but don't have as much time to do it, as I use to. Ty for these ideas/uses.
12x12 can be a lot to keep up with!
I always wanted to but I am definitely going to start!
You can do it!
Love all your methods of memory keeping!!
Thanks so much!
