My boss has actually said out loud that if his employees are happy then they aren’t working hard enough. He told me to my face that he would rather be feared than liked. My boss treats us like we are his enemies. He’s constantly angry and negative. He told me once he would punch me in the face if I didn’t get back to my table when I had been chatting with a colleague in the kitchen for five minutes. He also told me “jokingly” that if I ever tried to leave, he would burn my house down. If he could legally chain us to our tables, he would. He overloads us with work and constantly changing deadlines and goals and YOU BETTER MAKE EVERY DEADLINE OR ELSE. He says terrible things about every employee behind their back. He came into my office to make fun of a colleague who is dealing with a health challenge. He’s horrible. It’s the absolute worst place I’ve ever worked in my career. I’ve never been so unhappy.
@@WoohooInc thank you! Well, I’ve been searching for a new job for over a year now, and yesterday I received an official offer for a job that’s closer to my home, the people seem nice, and it’s a job that I think I will like and one I can do. There’s room for growth too which is great. So, after four years of agony, I’m finally breaking free! (And if my house mysteriously burns down, I’ve told people what he said.)
Company/business exist for solve, create, or manage stuff people want or need, never for earn money. Money is fuel for company/business can operate but is never its goal.
