The MOST emotional and a wonderful Performance at Eurovision.
He even was for some minutes at the TOP Spot. If countries like Ukraine, Malta, Cyprus and others would have given some points he would have been at the Top 3 in the End.
Mir ist grade erst aufgefallen das es manche Teilnehmer gibt ,die extrem Wert auf ihre Kleidung legen und dann kommt Michael Schulte mit einem einfachen schwarzen Pullover und Jeans.Finde ich gut.
Ja genau so wie lena damals ☺einfach natürlich und eine super schöne Stimme. Diese Leute brauchen keine extra schönen kleider , weil sie mit ihrer Stimme viel mehr erreich . Da bin ich deiner Meinung ☺

This song is beyond too good to be a part of the ESC. This is one of those strong songs that make you have tears in your eyes and an aching heart each time you listen. This is one of those songs whose effects you can feel on your body and can't even control it. This is a blessing for all of us. And we all should thank Michael Shulte for sharing his the most sincere feelings with us in the most sincere way possible. Lots of love and support from a stranger who is from somewhere in the world to the singer who is not the winner of the contest but definitely a winner in life and the winner of the hearts, that's all that really matters.

5 years have passed, and every time I see eurovision I’m reminded of this song.

I'm happy. Of cause I know thats a small thing in the world, but something changed. We're not just going stupidly after what was back in the time. People actually try to listen. I remember how not to long ago everything there was predictible. Now people tried to chose what they really liked. I hope that it stays like that, cause it's a small step forward. It's maybe the beginn for the bigger things. Who knows.

@@turtellok4964 I have a feeling that it's because Germany's Eurovision selection competition isn't watched by younger audiences. As a consequence, only the older people vote, and so you end up with songs like Sisters getting through over other much more interesting and much better songs.

Dude when I saw him nearly crying it touched me thinking about that the song is for his dead father. It reminds of my dead grandpa. It hurts so bad but seeing what he does with that horrible experience is wonderful
This is infinitely better than the chicken song. It has a meaning and it's sung beautifully. Unlike Israel, this is one of the songs that actually deserved victory. I do usually have a slight bias towards our neighbours, but I can tell this is objectively brilliant. Love from 🇨🇿.

@@livenitup862 Maybe, but Toy was an overly saturated, poppy, almost arrogant mess that felt to me at least like it lacked sincerity. Compare that to this song that had genuine heartache and humbleness that you only get from suffering true loss. This was a requiem to a father that passed away too soon.

Ich frage mich echt, warum dieser Song nicht gewonnen hat. So ein tolles Lied, großartig interpretiert, ohne große Show, Effekte und sonstigen Schnickschnack. Auf die Stimme sollte es doch eigentlich ankommen. Und die hat Michael Schulte! Aus ihm wird noch ein ganz, ganz Großer im Gegensatz zum Rest des Teilnehmerfeldes
Jap, er haut auch viele Hits raus mittlerweile. Persönlich bin ich der Meinung, dass wir grundsätzlich nicht gewinnen werden auch in Zukunft nicht, da im Ausland einfach permanent über Deutschland gehetzt wird. Uns gönnt niemand den Sieg oder überhaupt was Gutes, da wir der Sündenbock für die halbe Welt sind. Muss man sich nur mal so einige Zitate von Auslandsregierungen anhören, echt nicht mehr normal.

Die Top-Plätze waren die letzten Jahre eigentlich eh sehr divers, Tschechien und Zypern sind zum Beispiel ja normalerweise auch nicht so weit vorne wie dieses Jahr
I thought this song was beautiful and touching when I watched the contest. A few months later my mom passed away. Ever since then, whenever I listen this song I can’t help but tear up, especially when the pictures of the dads with their kids appear. I think this song hits differently now because I‘ve experienced the pain he is singing about. No other song has ever made me cry. My winner of 2018!

I love how they didn't go really huge and flashy like most acts did (and do) most of the effects are so subtle and they rely on just the song to prove their worthiness to win. It may have lost them some public votes but it was certainly my favourite because of the subtlety. Love from england! 🇩🇪🏴

Michael lives in my old hometown. Such weird feeling to see him every time knowing that he made this amazing performance. Very friendly and lovely guy.
I remember the day I was watching his performance (that I loved.. still today) with my dad and we were both really touched about the lyrics and his story. I couldn't really feel what he felt because my dad was still alive but now it's been a year that he's gone and it hits different. I will give everything just to see him again. To everybody reading this.. let's show your dad how much you love them because they don't get a lot of credit compare to our moms while they are both really important because we were all born of one love and one heart.
