Hello. I am one of the actors in this advertisement campaign.
The historical setting is in Kanchanburi, Thailand during WWII when the invading japanese forces forced POWs to build a railway leading to Myanmar. This railway also was built to pass the River Kwai, the scene of a famous movie. As in many other countries that were invaded by the japanese and german forces of WWII, there were many brave men, women and children who risked their lives to help refugees, POWs, resistance cells, the Allied Forces, and the injured. My grandparents were two such individuals during the japanese invasion of Korea. War is an ugly thing but even in that darkness, many chose to share the best of humanity. Compassion is a beautiful and powerful gift that is needed in so many places at this very moment. It is an incredible power that all of us have at our disposal. Let's use it.

Malila SU On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the USA and created war between those two countries. Two weeks later, on the 21st, Thailand signed an alliance with Japan and offered no real resistance to the Japanese army moving in. While they said they had no choice, many countries put up serious resistence to the Japanese but not Thailand. A few months later, Thailand's government voted for war against the US and their allies. But, they kept their embassy in Washington, DC open and never sent a declaration of war to the US department of state. They wanted to enjoy being Japan's ally but also not make America mad.
On top of that, they not only welcomed the Japanese in but the Thai government helped the Japanese locate and arrest all of the farangs who were living in Thailand. Many British, Australian and American citizens were sent to Japanese labor camps, where many died. The Thai government also helped the Japanese round up a lot of Chinese who lived here. The Japanese deeply hated the Chinese.
Later in the war, there was a Thai resistence movement that tried to send military intelligence to the Americans and British but they did that mainly because they were afraid the japanese would threaten the monarchy. There was no sitting king but there was a Regent in place till the king was safe to return.

Thai companies and Thailand never cease to fail in making tearjerker commercials & videos. This video was very heartfelt, memorable, moving, powerful, genuine, raw, real, etc. I really liked the message. I agree that compassion and giving are the best forms of true communication. Compassion and giving are two things that make a person beautiful and memorable. And compassion and giving are two of the most powerful things and acts a human being can do in this world for other living souls - humans, animals, & the Earth. Great video. I'm very proud that I'm Thai American, and that my parents were born & raised in Thailand. And that most of my relatives live in Thailand. Thailand is very good in making music videos and commercials that bring tears to our eyes and touch our hearts. Thanks again for making a memorable & heartfelt commercial and video! :-)

สื่อได้ดีครับ แค่ใจสั่งให้ทำ ก็สามารถรู้ได้ สัมผัสได้ โดยที่ไม่ต้องพูดออกมาเลย และฉากพีคสุด คือ ฉากที่ยื่นมือไปจับ ผมว่ามันไม่ค่อยเมคเซนต์เท่าไหร่ (แต่ก็ชอบฉากนี้นะ ซึ้งกินใจดีเหมือนกัน) แต่น่าจะใส่ฉากก่อนที่จะยื่นมือไปจับ เช่น ถลาตัวลงไปประคองเขาขึ้นมา ยื่นน้ำไปให้ดื่ม ไรงี้ แล้วค่อยจับมือกุมไว้ (ให้กำลังใจ) ผมว่ามันน่าจะทัชมากกว่านี้นะ...แต่ถือว่าผกก.สื่อได้ดีครับ ยอดเยี่ยม :)
