Just got a time of 15:35 on legendary solo on Regret, and I dont consider myself a real speedrunner, just trying to get the 3hour achievement for halo 2. Anyways, tested as of 16 June 2024: you can save/quit at any point in the mission, then go back to main menu->campaign->halo2anniversary->resume. This will work even on the very last checkpoint, I guess 343 patched it awhile back to let you save scrum in Halo2. Makes getting these times on each mission SOOOOO much easier in the sense you can't really "kill" a run, just keep trying till you get to the next checkpoint w/ a good time. I used Vodred's and Halo Completionists' guides. The god despawn is not as hard as it looks. The hardest part for me was The Regret room. You can get multiple checkpoints (I got 3) when you'r ein the room w/ regret, trick is to go up on the upper floor and be away from any enemies, its rare but you can do it just run around then stop moving when you see radar is clear, you'll get a checkpoint. For god despawn, try your best to get a checkpoint just before jumping on to the Gondola, unfortunately my checkpoint was right before I killed the last jackal, but save/quit method makes that point moot.
@@xscoredformulax9770 Yeah. Its later in that video towards middle/end, Summit was wanting to try speed running halo 2 himself. ua-cam.com/video/mYJYCxf7tCc/v-deo.html&pbjreload=101
After seeing this and getting tips(like the CP) and about 7 hours all up - 3 hours spent just on the first gondola an hour on everything in between and then 2-3 hours just on regret I finally did it, almost had the same meltdown and rage quit like I did 16 years ago
I ended up using the kill everything method. There are actually a finite amount of respawning Honor Guards, so taking them all out will leave you with just the old man and some grunts
I wouldnt have much problem with the fight if there werent those plasma rifle elites I end up just playing the long game of killing all the elites, which is really boring, might try what u did next time
A friend and I are trying to beat all the halos on legendary, and halo 2 is by far the hardest one 💀💀 we just spent 2 hours trying and failing this level.
so the first time i played this game I played on normal, I just went towards the prophet and punched him like twice and he died. was that supposed to happen?
Yeah, and on easy mode, you just have to board him, and not even punch once and he will die from you scaring him. On legendary.... much different story.
@@ChiefLunar I think I only died twice I probably got super lucky, didn't realize it has the reputation. It took me actual weeks to beat Reach on legendary, so I guess I didn't do it with skill.
@@Tatti12321 I just beat it!!!!!!! Had to take a break, come back today and beat it 1st try after I saw this video. Honestly it wasn’t that bad at all. I had the wrong idea the entire time. I didn’t even know you had invincibility on the chair! Lmao for like 30 minutes I was still shooting him expecting him to die
When you have no competition so you let everybody know how its done.
Mint Blitz v rocats
Was going to like but you're at 117
Damn that guaranteed checkpoint is sweet. Thanks!
1:34 Rare, huh?
That means I'll get it 100%.
When can we expect "Quick Tips: How to be cool like rocats" to be uploaded?
Thanks man. Your tutorial isn't just showing us the one take where everything worked out fine. Keep it up.
Regret likes to drop me into the laps of elites when I speedrun

Found your channel through Summit1g, can't stop watching definitely my new favourite WR/speed runner!
Did he reacted to one of rocats videos?

This made my Regret legendary speedrun 1000% faster, thank you for this!
Chief in the books
One issue I'm not that good.
You earned a sub good sir. I like your tips. Some of these tips will make the game easier for me and make me a slightly more skilled probably.
At least more skilled at the end of the level regret.
thank you, based Mr Wick. happy christmas

Wish he actually explained how to do the sword canceling method
You are a legend.
These videos are cool. You should do a speed run of the whole game and comment the cool tricks you use.
Did the instant regret kill that GeneralKidd made a few months ago get patched out or used for any speedruns?
That's only a thing on lower difficulties because only one board is required in the first place, you still have to board him 5 times on legendary
@@rocats Oh, thanks for clearing that up.
@@rocats what about on LASO?
@@NathanMannin nadeboarding is the only way to get it done, said by Halo Completionist ua-cam.com/video/YWVtU1h9A24/v-deo.html
@@rocats so it’s not the number of punches but the number of times you board his vehicle? Seems dumb but great to know 😅
I want the Ranked Halo 2 playlist back. It's fucking bullshit they took it away!

This boss was the easiest part of legendary for me. Had to glitch out that fucking flood gondola though.
stfu no it wasnt

@@Tatti12321 this boss fight is literally the hardest part of halo 2 campaign how can you say the opposite unless you are being sarcastic.
