as somewhat brown and middle eastern - i guess the "remembered the order, name, etc from restaurant" happen in almost any country i visited, i think it's just they rarely meet other race outside their own people - well this also happen to me when i was in japan, they even take space in train - in SEA (or in asia in general idk) people tend to treat you better, i got one of the local told me they are nicer to foreigner compared to the local
Totally agree with all of this! Another great thing about being black in Korea, in particular a black English teacher is that the students get exposed to a different perspectives, viewpoints and frames of references of the world. Also, because we share similar histories of colonialism and oppression, we can empathize with Koreans much easier.
What are you on, bro? It is anything but "fine" that Korean workplaces are allowed to discriminate on the basis of race. You should go back to the 1950's my man.
Thanks for the comment. If you lived in any western country ask a black person they do it anyways. It's not going to stop. Wouldn't you want to know where it's happening so you can avoid these places?
No I don’t want to live in a country were they can actively discriminate “by law on race” I don’t know why you are defending that insanity. Minorities will just be persecuted in that situation
