    Hey Travis, It's good to see you promoting the roller massage. My pre game warm up starts 2 hrs before game time and starts with a short warm up jog, until I break a good sweat. It usually takes 10 to 15 minuets. followed by a couple of repeats of agility exercises, nothing crazy, just to get the legs moving. I then roller out my calves, hamstrings quads and upper side muscles. I stay away from static stretches before games. But because I have back issues, I preform a few gentle stretches to test my back and gently loosen it, if need be. I then go through an extensive visualization program for approximately, half an hour. Then its time to get to the rink, I like to be there at least 1hour before game time. If its a competitive game I'll do the same routine at the rink.

    Is that Selkirk Rec Complex? The nostalgic memories there. I also recognize this is 6 years old but I don’t care!

    The music made me cringe 😆 and didn’t make rolling / humping the floor awkward at all 😂 serious though. I’m a new goalie at the ripe young age of 33, this is helpful, thanks for sharing.

    Hey Trav I've been working really hard and I'm getting super good and adjusting to the Tier 1 AAA level, I'm 14 years old trying to get to a u16 team but I'm getting beat out by kids that shouldn't be beating me out, I'm not the type of goalie that is technically sound. The kid that beat me out is more technically sound than I am but he gets beat on shots that shouldn't have beat him. Anyway I see that you got invited out of AAA to play in the WHL, I'm just wondering what can I do to become a better goalie, I'm working super hard doing 400 squats with a weighted vest every single day and it's helping me but why can't I just beat the fuckers out. I need your advice and tips so that I can advance to the next level. Thank You

    Where did you get the roll? You may have said in the video where you got it but I am too poor to pay attention. I show up to the rink an hour before we are supposed to hit the ice. Guys ask me why I come so early and I tell them to stretch, get a feel for the gear and if I want to make any changes to the set up and then to do some visualization. Love the Bauer set up by the way! Keep the videos rolling!

      cw2lido lol an hour before a game is early? I'm always there AT LEAST an hour and a half before. Nothing's more important than a strong preparation

      They will only open up the locker room an hour before they drop the puck, or you can give them the keys to your wife's 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. Hmmmm, don't think she would like that too much. I start stretching at home, takes me 10 minutes to get to the rink. I would stretch in the waiting area but most times there are kids hanging out with their parents and I don't feel like giving everyone a show while I stretch.

      You can get them at any sports store or Sportschek I believe. I think mine was 30 bucks maybe???? Yeah showing up early is critical!

    Hi! Im 16 years old now and I want to play ice hockey (as a goalie). I can skate pretty good but i can get better, i currently play floorball as a goalie which is pretty similar to ice hockey goaltending. I've wanted to be a goalie in ice hockey for a very long time so I got some questions. Question: Do you got any tips for me as a beginner goaltender and what should I expect when I get out there? Thanks! Awesome video man!

      Just put lots and lots of effort and hard work in and you'll get better, that's all that you need

    • @milk3780
      @milk3780 7 років тому +2

      Adam Olers get on the ice early, leave last (ps I don't really think floorball and ice hockey goaltending are the same at all, in floorball you don't even have a stick)

    • @adamolers7485
      @adamolers7485 7 років тому

      Well I meant by Floorball that im experienced by getting shots at me and controlling the players from the back. And I do know that a Floorball goalie doesnt have a stick.

      Adam Olers Oh ok, and I was just pointing that out. That's a good skill to have, I see lots of goalies that struggle containing rebounds. You'll have a head start ;)
