Regardless of the script, those two guys were dueling at who would go more HAM. Cage naturally fits this role better so he set up the Castor character, and then still managed to sneak in some absolutely wild moments even as "Archer" in a Cage body, especially in Dietrich's mansion. Travolta on another hand had a TON of fun playing Castor, he went berserk with the role, almost a Joker-like performance. What a movie
My top action movies of all time: The entire Bad Boys series #1 then Face/Off. I am a huge Travolta fan. Not only did he look his best in this movie but to me, this WAS his BEST movie. Cage was impeccable as well. This will always be one of my top movies til I die‼️💯
I know, this was an old comment, but I would like to hear Nicholas Cage when he said " DIE!" to John Travolta, they should make Nic use John voice to say die!
@@CLARENCE-ys1xr Why??? He was speaking in Castor's voice at that point. Speaking on that did you notice how later in the movie after Archer dislodges the chip in his throat he still for some reason speaks in Castor's voice???
Yes Two great Titans of this Art Interpreting with a master level, of the thing, and so Brilliant, same scene hundreds times, untill Director says, Cutt, it s thye end we have it now, that s the last scene, and then the movie is almost ready, What a wonderful profession this must Be.. Huggs to All....
rewatched FACE/OFF last night and then wanted to revisit this B-roll compilation I joked to my friends, "Cage as Archer is going all in on a classic tortured movie monster performance as Archer... while Travolta as Troy is leaning into... Ace Ventura!" And it WORKS
Seeing it done like this makes it easy to see all the work that goes into making a scene work, from the music in the delivery of each vocalisation to all the tape marks on the floor so the actors can fast-track their blocking. Fantastic work, I can especially imagine the fun John and Nicolas would've had workshopping pretending to be each other, taking some of their qualities then dialling them over the top. Every actor loves a role in which they can have some fun and play it broad. ^_^
They both said they had so much fun doing this.... I read John T saw Nick shooting the first priest scene where he planted the bomb, and was like "ooohhh were doing THAT kind of acting" lmao
Nicolas is a master. He's one of the best actors of history.
Yeah he’s very in character
John is also😇

What a movie
John Woo is just nothing short of awesome. I've always loved his movies.
+blockmasterscott, He should have been the effects and cinematography director on the expendables. his vision and practical effects.
He is simply a legend.
The best John Woo movie.
It's amazing and great to see how much fun they had making this film
Yeah, and all behind the scenes fun on the screen.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIE, I CAN STILL REMEMBER WATCHING THIS WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD IN A VCD.. LOL , NOW I'M 30!!
Same age 😄
same age lol
Loved this movie, great performances by cage and travolta, and one of the last great action movies shot by Hollywood.
Watching acting from the behind the scenes it feels so much like a theatre play.
Travolta is the best product of Hollywood
Nicholas Cage as well, you just can't deny how good he is!
3:10 lmao nick is a legend
One of my most fave action movie of all time.❤❤❤
They look like kids having fun on the playground
I just love Travolta! #1! Cage is good too.
The 90s really didn't get better than Face/off
T2...
John Travolta is a smooth operator 😻

Predator for me!
I'm always impersonating Nic Cage's "DiiiieeeeEEEEEEEEE"s when I tell people to watch this.
Cold Play The weirdest random response to a comment like this I've ever read on UA-cam. Lol

The time when movies were shot in glorious 35 mm film. Boy, do I miss movies shot in film.

I love this film!!!
it awesome to see which scenes where not used and which ones made the final cut
Before Michael Bay there was John Woo
I watched the face off again, one of my all time favourites
This is gold!
rewatched FACE/OFF last night and then wanted to revisit this B-roll compilation
I joked to my friends,
"Cage as Archer is going all in on a classic tortured movie monster performance as Archer... while Travolta as Troy is leaning into... Ace Ventura!"
And it WORKS
4:38 this part always gets me, Classic NC moment
Nicholas is amazing but john travolta is phenomenal

And then the editing team having to knit it all together into one beautiful piece.
3:14 always reminded me of a nirvana song "scentless apprentice" or "school"
Awesome movie ! Cage and Travolta Top !

John Woo and his pigeons
Thank goodness they changed some of the lines
Looks like you're gonna be in here for uh THE NEXT HUNDRED YEARS!
See anything you LIKE?!!!
Nicolas cage great actor
Bring back 80s and 90s action movies. Cant stand the woke CGI crap of todays
Somehow I find this film in the step of watered down action prevalent today.
At 6:10 you can see the wheels in the actual movie
From woo.chang..godsick❤❤❤
no more versatile actors like these 2 at present day
How many time they had to repeat the scene from different angles?
Scene at @ was shot at The Pacific Electric Lofts on the 9th floor in Downtown LA.
610 S. Main St. Los Angeles, CA
GREAT FACE/ OFF : (1997) FILM - BEHIND THE SCENES - [BROLL ] - SCREENSLAM !!!
so disappointed to see that Nic Cage wasn't the craziest guy in the room. he was so in character throughout the video. what an amazing actor.
Loved this!
Now I won't see 👀 the movie 🎥 the same anymore but this is worth watching cuz its more fun then the actaully movie. Lol. Which is sad
looks like it's not compelete.do you have any more video about face/off broll?
Greatest movie directed by unprofessional director
how did the handheld camera guys, not get shown, in all those mirrors around them?
I love nic cage
Watched it last night. Many many people died..alot
Imagine being an actor back then, mic guy shoving it against you. That would be annoying
I'm getting my life right now
why with those twin cameras ?
Arachmadi Putra It was the first Paramount movie to be shot in Blu-Ray
HamsterK1977 um, dvd wasn’t even big yet
John Woo likes to shoot a lot of coverage with different angles and close ups.
before j woo Hollywood"s visionary
The only part that scared me was seeing them both with no face
Especially when Castor wakes up with no face and takes off the bandage
And you don't see it much, just a muddy reflection in glass.
Is this a rehearsal? It's not the real set
Cena rara de se vê
This is one of the biggestcraps that Hollywood producer in the 90's.
Where are the pigeons.
