Following the enormous success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1938, The Walt Disney Company got too big and had too many employees. Walt and his brother Roy purchased land in Burbank and built a brand new studio. The original Walt Disney Studio in Hyperion Avenue was demolished and today is a supermarket (Trader's Joe).
Walt Disney bought bungalows across the street from his Hyperion Avenue Studios for his animators to work in. There wasn’t enough rooms for all his animators at The Hyperion Studio, when Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was in production.
How in the world these young punks don't have any pride for the Glorious USA, is beyond my imagination. Thanks for bringing these historic videos of the great Americana! ❤
Nice Technicolor views of LA before the freeways tore it up. Early in the film you can see a yellow LARy streetcar. Later in the film you can see the Pacific Coast Electric red cars, both of which made up a great electric transit system, long gone now.
I’ve always enjoyed Traveltalk. I’m so glad James FiltzPatrick 🧳 traveled around the world and filmed these 💎 Gems ❤. I imagine what it would be like to do that 💕👍
My Mom was Born in Los Angeles 1935 , fun to see L.A Then

Gelson's Market. Trader Joe's is across the street from the former Disney Studios.

Incredible! Also, it’s a shame Walt Disney gets all the credit for Mickey Mouse when he can’t even draw Mickey
Sometimes life ain’t fair. Like stealing all this land from those poor Indians. But aren’t you glad we did? 😅
