"My favourite dead guy"😂
Love your stories
Of all your videos l think l loved this one most.
Really appreciated the deep dive into Jenny's yarn shop. The comparisons of different sheep breed yarn types was really informative and the dyeing absolutely beautiful.
Especially the stories behind the mixtures of colours . . . The yarn inspired by places are exactly what l long for. If l could paint or dye yarn then creating in response to landscapes would be my thing.
Exploring ancient landscapes, historic buildings and wild countryside, are very much my loves as well. Thank you for your singing which brought the chapel alive.
There are no words to express how much your podcasts bless me. Thank you so very much for everything you do and for the poetry and beautiful singing and all the scenery and history, I could go on and on. The image of the chasing goose resembling the Holy Spirits' chasing will stay with me. I have always been fearful of losing my salvation due to my stumbling and it brings such despair. Does He ever give up on us?
Thank you Andrew for being there and shining Gods Light in this dark world.
Thank you Andrew for taking on your travels. 🇨🇦🥰Sharon.
What a wonderful surprise to have a devotional knitting episode! All your episodes are uplifting, but this sone "tued my heart to sing His praise". Thank you.
Oh Andrew I so enjoyed this episode. I needed to calm my spirit today! Thank you and God Bless!
Thank you, Andrew. This was so interesting and peaceful. Jenny is a fascinating craftswoman! Bless you and your family, and Jenny 😊
I absolutely loved this vlog/podcast. I wish I was young again to walk with you and God. Just a beautiful reminder of God's love for us that He created such beauty. Thank you for taking us along.
What a lovely, charming and informative share! I loved your 5 day retreat in every way - thank you so much for taking us along! Bless you and keep knitting and sharing!
Thank you for introducing us to Jennie! She is fabulous
I love the thought of a "thin place" between heaven and earth. What a beautiful concept! So meaningful; touched my heart!
I’ve been to Jenny’s shop twice - the only two times I’ve ever been to Berwick. Completely tripped over it the first time I went to the town and the second time was when I was cycling the Scottish Borders in August and deliberately delayed my trip there so that I could spend some time in her shop. She’s so lovely and so interesting. Her yarns, patterns, knitted pieces, trinkets and entire shop are just beautiful. Well worth visiting Berwick for! Thanks for a fab podcast and God bless you, Andrew.
THank you for a lovely video. What a pleasant end to Sunday.
Such a great video. Thank you. It was great to see Jenny's shop and work. She's brilliant ❤
Such a lovely vlog Andrew. Thank you so much. Wishing you a lovely day 🧶🧡
Thank you for a lovely episode on this rainy (but very tame) Sunday afternoon in California.
I love knitting along with you. Thanks for the tour of all the lovely places.
That was so very enjoyable Andrew ! I love visiting places with you 😊 I live in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania (the little island state of Australia). Our city sits on both banks of the River Derwent and on the Eastern Shore there is a suburb named Lindisfarne and the Catholic School there is named St Cuthberts - we have so many Uk names here 😊 I very much enjoyed your visit to Jennie’s shop and will most definitely visit her website 😊
With so many difficult things going on in the world these days, it was a fresh breath to hear from you and observe a truly integrated person. I kept thinking through all of your presentation that if all mankind possessed the same integrated (mind, body and soul) and kind personhood as Andrew, we would have true peace. Not to mention the beautiful stop at Jeannie's and yarn colors at the end! Thank you so much.
Thank you Andrew. I’m watching a beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan as I listen to your poem and watch your vlog in your “thin place”. Thank you for blessing us with this glimpse of sacred spaces in your world
So many inspiring places, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and the fabulous bookswap - tables, chairs and sofas, how welcoming!
Just what a treat❤ lovely and peaceful
Loved this episode with the music, the churches, the hymn, and beautiful scenery. Wish I could see it in person. Loved Jennie’s yarn and yarn shop. I appreciate her incredible skill and talent.
I loved this episode! What a wonderful thing to be able to go away for a quiet retreat! I’m a bit jealous to be sure! I appreciate your spiritual additions to your podcasts. ❤️
What a lovely episode. I enjoyed Jennie's talent very much. Thank you so much, Andrew.
Thank you Andrew for taking us on your retreat. I do appreciate your sense of history.
The yarn shop tour was wonderful with a very lovely interview.
Cheers!
Thank you so much for this lovely video. I am a knitter and a Christian and I found your video so very refreshing. My husband and I hope to make it to Scotland someday soon.
That was glorious - thank you 🧶🧶
How lovely!
Thank you for showing Jennys shop...I visited the lovely shop while in beautiful Berwick upon Tweed in July.Such a talented lady !
Wonderful! So glad to hear of people dropping in to visit her. Her shop is a lovely little oasis of fibre heaven.
Wonderful episode full of coziness and charm. I loved seeing the little chapel, enjoyed your singing of the beautiful hymn, and, one of my favourite things in knitting podcasts is seeing inside yarn shops. As I finish watching, I am about to do the very thing Jennie talked about: block a shawl. Blocking makes all the difference, especially in the look and fit.
Fabulous trip.
One of my favourite places. Very enjoyable thank you 😊
My sister and I are cross stitchers who love your videos. We don’t knit but watching your videos is so relaxing and educational. Your work is beautiful. We love the history lessons and tours of Scotland. The gentle way you share your faith is heartwarming. We look forward to your next episode. Thank you so much for sharing with us. We have Scottish roots from way back so it is nice to learn about from whence we came. God’s blessing to you from across the pond in Mississippi.
Loved the episode and loved the hymn in the Chapel! Thank you!
I love this episode. I think you should sing in every episode. I could listen to your voice all of the time.
Andrew, I always enjoy your podcasts. God has given you a marvelous singing voice, thank you for sharing it with us. Loved the yarn shop tour, what a talented lady. See you next time.
Thank you for taking me along on your journey to a part of the country I'd love to visit one day. The yarn shop visit was a real treat.
Thank you Andrew.
😂 Early-o’clock, that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in ages
Thank you for sharing your retreat with us. I closed my eyes and listened to the poem you read while in the beautiful “shed” wishing I could transport myself there. Everything was beautiful. Everything. Singing, churches, scenery, visit to the beautiful yarn shop, etc., etc.! Thank you!❤️🙏🏽 Ohio, USA.
Loved this episode. You have a blessed life. Keep on knitting. 😊
Thankyou fore bringing me with you to your retreat🙏🏻 God bless you and your work
That brought blessings and a peaceful hour that I needed today. Thank you.
That was such a delight, enjoyed all of it! The historical peaceful prayer places was my favorite ❤️ And learning from Jen was priceless, what a treasured skill she has developed. That kep is going to be fabulous, great color combo! Knit well.
What a lovely trip, a great retreat with emphasis on 'treat' and thank you for sharing the walks, the churches and Jennie and her shop. As a spinner and dyer Jennie was a treat and now I'm looking at the how to of spinning singles to knit with. Looking forward to more!
When I first saw this video was over 50 minutes long, I wasn’t prepared for that when it popped up in my subscription list last night. But today is a hard day for me (the anniversary of my husband’s passing) and I thought, why not. It was lovely, Andrew. Thank you for a soothing way to start what will be a difficult day. I was moved by the gentle song in the chapel then was energized by the tour of the yarn shop. A perfect combination.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. Jenny and her shop were wonderful.
Great episode Andrew. And as a spinner I loved seeing Jennie's handspun. You sang one of the hymns I love and remember well especially from my childhood. Thanks.
What a lovely video….being from the NE coast of England but living in Scotland it was a joy to watch your travels in Northumberland. Beautiful churches and wee hideaways…..and what a gem of a wool shop😊👍…fantastic, thank you for sharing your adventures 😊
I quite enjoyed touring with you. Loved Jenny’s shop and all her beautiful wools.
Andrew, thanks so much for showing us all the beauty and history in Scotland and Northern England. It’s nice to hear the history of the areas you visit. Jenny’s yarn studio has such beautiful yarns and you can tell she puts so much heart and soul into it. I’d love to visit there sometime.
The whole episode was delightful, enlightening and enjoyable. I hope you had time for peace and inner reflection, so important for balance in life. Many thanks for your efforts, Andrew
I was just thinking of you the other day, and here you are!
Lindisfarne was lovely. I got to go when I took my dad to England for his 90th birthday, his favorite country. The yarn studio was amazing! I can't imagine spinning so much all by hand.
What a wonderful episode!! Thank you for the journeys that you take us on, you are a gracious host and an inspiration. And you have a beautiful singing voice. 😉
loved all of this episode
This was. Fantastic episode! Everything about it. Thank you
Beautiful J & S colors! Your dark brown will make a lovely 5th color, which is better than four - odd numbers are so much better, IMHO 😂
Thank you for sharing your comings and goings. Jennie was wonderful, too 💕
Thank you for sharing your trip. Northumberland is such a lovely place to visit, I have enjoyed many holidays there and hope to enjoy many more 😊
I’m lost for words and also brought to tears a couple times . Thank you so much from Vancouver Canada 🍁
Thank you for the lovely tour and poem. Always wonderful to listen to your history stories and beautiful scenery.
Thank you Andrew for a lovely peaceful episode. Just Lovely all the way around. And thank you for sharing the Wendell Berry poem. I was not familiar with it and it soothed my soul. I will be sharing with my wildlife appreciation group. I know that even though the weather was not the best, there is beauty in a storm as well. I know the time away rejuvenated you. Bless you.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. You are truly blessed on that side of the world. I may never get there in my lifetime, but through you I smile and dream.😊
I really enjoyed this trip ❤
Loved the episode. Your voice in the church is amazing. My breathing slowed and I felt a peaceful feeling of grace descend. Ferry! That looked like a cruise liner 🧐. Forgot that living on an island requires a few additional parcels and other cargo. 🤣. Got the Dustland pattern. 🎉. Using handspun so don’t anticipate getting the same stitch definition with semi worsted…. But then perhaps any errors won’t be as glaring. 👍. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for sharing all these wonderful stories and buildings I’m just so grateful for you and your stories and the scenery of GODS lovely buildings ❤
Andrew, what a wonderful thing! A true blessing for so many people! Our prayer is with yours, to help others through the struggles of life. God bless you, brother. And the chapel is so beautiful after so many centuries, making me wonder how many people came to worship our Lord.
Hello Andrew, just returned to S. Tasmania from the UK, sad to say we didn’t make it up to Scotland and rather sad as possibly this was our last five month visit to our old homeland, so a stop on a cruise last year on Orkney will be my one & only visit. All my life despite my Welsh heritage i wanted to go to the Hebrides and walk….i will therefore continue to follow you. That certainly was a peaceful calm crossing to the mainland, just beaut.
What a beautiful first church(chapel)certainly i could sense peace when you entered. The hymn was perfect. And Jennys shop gorgeous wool.
Thank you for sharing your retreat with us. It was a lovely and soul soothing podcast. I especially liked the concept of ‘thin places’. Many blessings to you!
That was wonderful!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Beautiful colours very Autumnal.
Thanks for sharing your trip and song in the church as well. I love to see you next project. In all weather conditions it is not a bad thing to keep knitting. Greeting from Dk
My desire to go to Scotland has been life long. As my grand parents were from Scotland
To see your videos is wonderful
I was in Northumberland at the same time as you. The day we had planned to go to Bamburgh Castle it was closed because of the storm so we went up to Berwick instead and I found Jennie’s shop. Came away with a skein of her lovely hand spun.
Next time we get up there I’m going to find Fine Fettle Yarns near Morpeth. Didn’t get to Barter Books or Lindisfarne this time but they’ll be on the list for next year. Lovely episode great to find someone else who appreciates Northumberland as much as I do.
Great episode. Love hearing about Jenni Howes. When I checked her site I realised I have one of her jumper patterns. I think it has 72 colours of handspun. And I’m in Perth Western Australia.
Wow!! This was my first time watching and I’m so glad I did!! Thank you from a child of a Newcastle native in the USA. This was lovely. I will binge watch earlier episodes to get caught up!!!
I have met Wendell Berry - he is from the neighboring county where I grew up. Such a delight to hear his work read in your lovely accent in the pousteria.
That was all so fun...except for sitting on the glasses! So fun and love your acquisitions!
Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing the "thin place". I will be on the lookout for a thin place here at home.
Andrew! I cannot say enough about this episode. It was so fun joining on retreat and getting fun history lessons along the way. And wow! Jennie Howes! Jennie and the shop are both lovely! I enjoyed how she explained about her different mixes, and what she would use for what type of project. That was really interesting and useful, as a non-seasoned knitter. 😊 I live across the pond, quite far away, but I’m going to look at her patterns at the very least, and possibly order some skeins in the future, if I can! Thank you so much, Andrew! Such a joy to sit watch while I worked up a swatch. 🤓
Great episode! Please sing for us again sometime, I enjoyed that so much.
I love coming along with you on your peaceful travels. It would be wonderful to visit all these places in person! 🥰
Thank you Andrew for making this beautiful episode...your whole journey through Northumberland, being able to share the places and churches and castles which are so precious to you. Hearing your lovely singing voice in the little Chapel was delightful and very meaningful....thank you for that.
It was lovely being introduced to lovely Jenny and all her beautiful hand spun yarns. You have picked out some beautiful autumn colours for your fisherman's kep and I hope you find joy in knitting it. I'm hoping to pay a visit to the Yarn Cake this week and looking forward to it. Thanks again Andrew for another very special episode. May God continue to bless your work on Arran....not forgetting your knitting. 😉😁
I enjoyed Day 3 ..the books 📚 and I was hoping you would sing in the chapel. Also ,the castles and all the history , the architecture, of this video as a whole, was good for the soul ❤ thank you for sharing! Peace ☮️✝️
Iam so happy UA-cam recommended your channel, now I'm going to watch all your videos. You are such a handsome lovely guy! Greetings from Germany 😊
Beautiful video. The chapel you were singing in was amazing and you have beautiful voice.
Beautiful! Thank you for blessing us with the wonderful singing!
Beautiful podcast. So informative and interesting
Just beautiful,peaceful
Thank you for your lovely tour! And the shop talk - how interesting and informative, it’s always good to learn about wool and it’s attributes. (One of my favorite tv shows is Vera and over the years I’ve come to appreciate the scenery of Northumberland and you’re video has increased this - I hope to visit the area some day -thank you!)
So grateful for you and for the beauty you shared with us on that journey. I hope you were refreshed and reinvigorated as well!
Loved the video. That little shed was amazing to see how it was inside. What a nice idea. You have so many interesting places over there. The grass is so green too. Thanks for the tour of the yarn shop. Very nice.🧶
I live australia now but was born in Alnwick 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✨🌸👌yay! Enjoy!
This was so beautiful! Thank you for taking us along with you. What stunning churches! And what an amazing yarn shop. 💚🧶💚
Thank you Andrew - that was a treat of an episode... i really enjoy the diversity of your podcast. I learn such interesting things and of course the knitting! You are a gem in this world of youtube!
Very enjoyable video. Enjoyed seeing all the historical places and hearing about you being chased by the holy spirit!
Thank you so much for this Andrew. Funnily enough we visited both Northumberland and Arran in August 2022 and had a wonderful time. Love the way you so naturally blend your faith with creativity and nature.
