“The Jordanian government announces things in official platforms, timid statements, and in its positivity is timid, and it still falls short of the minimum of what the Arab people and the authentic Jordanian people, all the Arab peoples and the peoples of the free world, demand. In the other way, on the ground, the Jordanian government acts by going too far with its security services, arrests, beatings. With batons for peaceful youth, peaceful, constitutional, and legitimate demonstrations, expressing the opinion and rights of all citizens, except that there is a presence of more than 10,000 security men. STORYLINE:
Jordanians demonstrated for the fourth day in a row near the Israeli embassy in Amman in response to the war in Gaza, expressing their support for Hamas' actions.
About three thousand demonstrators chanted pro-Hamas slogans like "All Jordanians belong to Hamas!" and “Go ahead Hamas, you are the cannon and we are the bullets (ammunition)!”
The demonstrations are held in the wake of Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and against the military operations in the Shifa complex.
The demonstrators chanted slogans against Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and demanded that Egypt ends the siege on Gaza and open the land crossing with Strip.
Protesters demanded that the Jordanian government cancel the peace treaty with Israel and end all agreements with it and stop exporting goods via the land bridge between the Gulf states and Israel through Jordan.
