      Yes, she just called it what it was, misogyny, racism or whatever it was, in whatever company. When Boy George tries to backtrack on what he said about Kylie, Sinead was obviously not buying it, nor did she pretend to find it funny. She did not laugh along with the audience. She had so much integrity and was unhesitatingly honest.

    It's absolutely wild that Sinead truly sounds like a person with the disposition and all the information of someone from the year 2023 in the early 1990s. She must've been so incredibly well read and informed for a person of her time, woman or man, and every interview you watch simply confirms that assumption.

      Her intelligence, her fire and her courage was second to none! Here she holds court with 3 men, completely dominating them without even trying.
      The answer = her firm belief in what she says coupled with her authenticity.

    • @lesamyers3065
      @lesamyers3065 Рік тому +8

      So true! You see it over and over again--and especially when the interviewer is d*k. It's almost as if within seconds she sizes them up and you see how her facial expression changes, especially when their questions are trivial, almost as if she's thinking, "oh, okay, here we go again" ....and then she either completely holds back in answering, switches the subject entirely, or shuts them down with more important things to say--completely catching them off guard--leaving the interviewer to keep asking dumb questions or not even have anything more to say
      This video though really shows the degree of her intelligence and her deft capabilities in this regard

      @@dee_seejay I was 20 in 1992 and while some of us indeed were aware of the skewed world in which we lived, being a woman then was pretty bloody hard. There'd been no "Me Too" movement and women were still being silenced and laughed at everywhere. You'd say one thing that might be a bit challenging and a man would instantly shut you up with some sexual comment or try to belittle you. So it didn't matter how aware you were...or even if you had a platform like Sinead did. Because if you spoke out, you were ridiculed.

      @lesamyers3065 That show was screened late and live for when people rolled in from the pub! It was well known for being unprofessional and the presenter Terry didn't mind being joked at. Sinead didn't want to appear on that show by the look of it and knew it was a trivial show. I think you've misread this clip and the context.

He was a fascinating early glimpse at a gay man who dressed gender-fluid ! To this day people are uncertain of his status. However, it’s seems clear he was a gay man whose clothing was either binary or gender-fluid. We need to accept unusual people to push forward no matter if we understand it or not because often they are here to teach us something. Additionally, just because something is accepted doesn’t make it less unique❤😊

    nope... her points were very valid (and the crowd reacted in a good way to them) ... and the interviewer should have asked more open questions [instead of closed ones which you can mainly answer with yes or no, or which result in a short answer].
    So you are saying: behave like & blend in with the others, and denying that way your very own & unique identity... well... I guess not.
    She was rather bothered with the shallow questions.
