Mike is 100% right about waiting to eat. Why would I ask someone else if I can have their permission to eat my food. Ridiculous. So it's better for both of us to be unhappy? If you want to eat at the exact same time then tell the waiter to bring the dishes out at the same time. Don't expect me to wait until my dish is cold or ask permission, it's the restaurants fault, not mine.

I also agree 100% and am 31 lol idk anyone else who waits either I'm not superior to anyone else so why should I expect someone to eat their food on my terms

I had a friend that took kids out of their beds at night, with their parent's permission, to take them to military camp/school or rehab. It's real.

Yeah there's never been a recorded human death by orca in the wild. Not saying it's never happened, but it's never been proven in the wild.

It's impolite to start eating your food before the whole table's meals come out (unless it's gonna take several minutes and they're like "don't wait" or something, or if you ask if they mind)... if somebody's running late to that meal, you don't sit down, order, and eat your meal before they show up? You typically wait for them to show up and then order (drinks aside)

Mike’s take on societal norms is wack. It might be arbitrary, but it’s respectful.
Asking why we do things the way we do is a necessary exercise. Mike might have his issues, but I don't think he's so off-base with questioning norms.
