Hi Alex…there should be an abbreviation key in your shawl pattern..I’m guessing that LT & RT are Left Twist and Right Twist, but that’s only a guess. Also, I used Drops Air on a project and recall that it says, “not to let the garment soak” The laundering instructions on their web site state the following: Don’t let the garment soak. Move the garment gently back and forth, do not rub or squeeze it. I hope this helps when you block your sweater. That colour is gorgeous! 😊

ah ha! right twist and left twist makes a lot of sense haha thank you! upon further investigation it does say that in the pattern 🤦‍♀and thank you so much for the blocking tips for drops air!! would not have known that other wise 🙌

RT/LT - Right Twist and Left Twist.
And maybe put a vase or water bottle in front of you and put the microphone on that? I saw Jonathan Day put his on a knitting needle and then he stuffs it into the neck of whatever he's wearing, so that could also work. Hope it helps :D

Short, long, everything inbetween are all good options for video lengths, there's something for everyone that way, personally I like any length video, I think half an hour is a good inbetween length since in the flosstube community we tend to do over hour long videos every week, personally mine are around half an hour but any length is good.

@@alexjames_fiber right now I’m crocheting a pattern called the Ivy Cardigan that I got on etsy in an undyed merino and I’m also working on a granny square bag made with all my different green scrap yarns (: for knitting projects I’m working on the travelers cardigan by ozetta in a sage green color !! (Green is my favorite color LOL)

Hi, Alex! Fun video! Love everything you’re knitting, but the shawl for your grandmother is going to be absolutely beautiful…! Since you mentioned making a shawl for yourself someday, but maybe preferring cardigans (if I’m remembering correctly?), you might want to check out the “Shawl Shrug” pattern in Ravelry by Susanne Sommer. It’s an interesting combination of the two concepts. Just a thought! Take care, and good luck with your knitting deadlines! ❤❤❤

Im short to and id absolutely stop now. Longer will just accentuate your middle making your belly area look thicker and shorter. Im always trying to make my stomach /waist look thinner and longer.

I feel like I'm misunderstanding something, when you said the cheapest yarn on the list for your test knit, was that suggested yarn, or did you have to choose a yarn off of a provided list in order to do the test? Because if it's the second that really doesn't sit right with me.

the winnie sweater is intended to be knit with a chainette airy yarn - there are several suggestions for the pattern and because I'm testing it I wanted to choose one of the suggestions! no requirement or anything, just my choice :) also, the drops is the most affordable for me given where I live and what yarn I have access to, however this will differ depending where people live in the world! sorry, I should have worded that better haha - I chose the drops air because its an affordable natural yarn that I haven't tried yet! so far love the knitting experience and would recommend, especially for this sweater.

I'm not into the cropped-trend that's everywhere right now, but if you are, I think you can totally leave it as it is and just give the designer a heads up that you did yours in a cropped version.
I like knitting to your podcast, so about half an hour is perfect, but if there are shorter ones I'd still watch them.

thank you sm for your input! I think I'll knit to pattern for test knit purposes and see how I like the garment in every day life bc I can always alter later. glad to hear you'll watch other length videos! I agree, I like the 30-40 min ones haha

@@alexjames_fiber True, taking inches off again should be no problem.
