Flying Circus / highlights / Capital Circus, Budapest 2019

Since the beginning of time circus is the mixture of wonder, miracle, and fantasy coming to life. Mostly for the children, but also in the hearts of adults, when an old memory brings laughter, a feeling they can relive during the show of the “FlyingCircus”. Our audiences take part in a magical journey, which will take us back to the glorious past of the great circuses that existed a century ago, evoking the grandiose golden age of circus arts. Every adult can become a child again, and every child can experience what their parents witnessed as children. The productions evoke the atmosphere of the circuses of the early twentieth century. One of the most important elements of the circus is laughter, which will be provided by one of the most celebrated clown duos of our time, Daris and Gianni Fumagalli. The character of Fumagalli is among those clowns, who does not make the audience participants in order to make them laugh, but through his character. The clown duo - who won the Golden Award of the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo - here performed for the first time in Hungary. The Mongolian Circus Production performs an exciting rope skipping act and an acrobatic act on rolling balls. These artists were also given many awards by circus professionals at various International Circus Festivals. It might be surprising that this acrobatic act on rolling globes has Hungarian roots withing my own family: the audience could see it from the Sallai group for the first time in the 1950’, whose technique was improved by the Mongolian circus artists. The Russian Bar acrobats of the show are currently the best of the genre, they performed five various triple somersaults without safety In Monte-Carlo winning a Silver Clown Award. Jana Posna - who appeared in the movie Dumbo with Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Colin Farrell - presented the unconditional love and trust between humans and animals in her playful dog performance. I believe that our art can find the inner child of the adults and can take them back for a few hours, to relive the memories of a carefree childhood, that they spent here in the City Park.
