I have been watching your videos from the beginning and enjoy them. I too intend one day to do cross country hikes with my spouse and was curious how many days we would get on each others nerves. From today's video it appeared to be the first time that you guys were a little perturbed with each other. Early in this video Goldie Locks is giving you the bird while you are speaking. Hang in there and and keep the post coming. :).
Glad to see Goldilocks is better so you can get back on trail. There seems to be an abnormally high number of tress across the trail to be in the desert. I didn't realize Joseph Walker discovered the Sierra...learned something new today. Thanks.
Such a lovely community on the trail. Nice that you guys got to see old friends. Glad to see Goldilocks being able to continue on the journey. All the best to you both!💕
Uh oh. The critters got ya. Hat mice are a menace. And the hat clip snakes are the worst. Carry on you two. You are an inspiration. Can't wait to see what happens next.
It really is great watching your progress. Nice video event with the Bull Snake. Some of your landscape scenes are quite impressive even though they’re desert terrain. I especially like some of the composed stills at the end of each video series.
Thank you Noel. Having you compliment my photography is high praise indeed. My brother Jim gave me some basic tips on framing and composure that I try to keep in mind as I'm setting up my shots. We are in Kennedy Meadows right now; next stop Sierras! My dad and Judy drove up from Bakersfield today to visit us. I'll email you a photo.
Carol and I sure enjoying watching your videos. Everyday look to see if you up load a new one. Your sound quality is great no back ground noise at all when you have the muff on the mic. God, your Dad looked so good. Hi, Uncle Richard. WE love you guys.
Wow, good for both of you! I section hiked Kennedy Meadows to Walker Pass last September. Tough section. The butterflies were soo beautiful. Thank you for sharing your hike.
Happy to see you both and that Goldilocks feels good enough to go forward. Don’t blame you for beating the heat and taking a little time off trail. It’s your hike and that’s what makes it a great adventure. Uphill starts are always so encouraging! Lol Missed your videos for that week. And thank you for answering my questions in the QA. I retired the bandanna for the Kula, totally worth it! Happy somewhat pain free trails! 😊🌷
Howdy! Was just ready to hit the sack, and refreshed YT one last time .... and there it was!!! A new K&TOA vid! .... at midnight. I haven't seen too many vloggers who covered the Trail n of Walker Pass as well as you have in this one, Ken. But I've watched, probably a couple thousand hours of PCT footage, so maybe I just forgot. But looks like it has different characteristics to enjoy. (except the beating solar orb!) Gotta hit the sack! and thanks for all the effort you're putting into posting for us to enjoy. I know you would be filming even if it was only for your own record of the journey; but it's an inspiration that you share it! Take care, Ed
@@grampakilt Yes, had that thought myself. Or that maybe it was just too boring... But not by what I've seen from Ken's footage. I'd have to assume from your ID that you're a fan of hiking kilts also..?? Had never heard of them 'til recently. Guess I haven't got enough 'Scottish' in me. But I sure do enjoy Drambuie!!
So glad to see you two back on the trail again. Hope you enjoyed the break. I bet it was hard getting back at it after the break. Being retired, I look forward to the next installment. I can do without the snakes, but I will put with them. Glad to see Thia is continuing on and working through the shin splints. She is pretty bad ass. I am going to try to pay you guys a visit on the trail, somewhere around mile 1080.
Thia is tough as nails. Luckily it looks like the time off trail was enough for her to heal. She didn't have any problems on this last 50 mile section. It would be great to see you when we get out of the Sierras. I'm hoping I can keep up on the videos with so little cell reception.
So glad to see you two back on the trail. I had so bad of pain in my knee and couldn't sleep. I am so glad you are on the trail and not back in Washington. We live in one of the worst counties with corvid...Take care enjoy the trail
Looks like you opted to skip the 90 miles between Tehachapi and Walker Pass. That stretch is quintessential desert, challenging but beautiful. Was looking forward to seeing it again and seeing how you'd fare in that stretch.
Hey y'all I'm glad to see thias is continuing the journey with you. I was really hoping you guys would be interested in trying that, you would have noticed it would have made a real difference on the load. Anyhow I wish you guys well on your journey and as always I look forward to your next videos if you change your minds please let me know. Safe Journey Keep On Trekking....BRITDOG 🤠
Sorry about the delay, I promise it's coming! I wanted them to help me edit it so i wouldn't embarass them by accidentally leaving something in that they wanted me to cut out. Hopefully by mid-week.
Your going to know all about ups and downs in the next month 😉. Once your above the tree line there realy is no shade. The Sierras are going to give you an adventure for sure.
Nice to see your adventure starting back up, and more hikers to socialize with. Felt bad for you at the beginning, but you pushed on, and now things are looking up. Also, glad you are wearing shorts under that kilt, thought I was going to get flashed when you where putting on sun screen!
Started out in Armor (19A) and then after 4 years switched over to Intelligence (35E). Ironically, it was only after i left the Army that I was severely injured!
@@kenthiasoutdooradventures2294 a nasty tanker, lol..I was 11B, thank you for your service..and allowing us to follow your journey. Ever come to Spokane aka spokompton, I owe you a beer.
Get out your patch kit and patch up that hat from inside. It’s an epic Hat that’s gonna go through an epic journey and should occupy a hallowed place on your den wall. It has a story to tell. The Lord only knows how it was violated by them critters. Keep pushing on, enjoying your videos.
You guys just keep going and going. So it seems you guys did decide to skip a few miles. It's nice to see tru hikers make their own adventure. Be healthy be well and keep trekking.
Best videos of the PCT I have ever seen

The new "ventilation" on your hat just adds to the character. 🤘
Your hat has been christened. True vintage wear n tear
Ken you never to old to catch a snake!!!! Yahoo.. new name snake catcher of the west!
Yup! I'm sure mom loved that part. LOL!

Agree, few vloggers provide much footage of this section, maybe just focused on reaching KM. Good memories for me. GK

Won’t be long now!!! Sierra here you come!!
It looks really hot! As you said it's sometimes hard to film how hard the road really is! But when you're a hiker, you usually do know. Hang in there!
Was excited to see a new video, glad Goldilocks shins are better..... I hope you both stay injury free and healthy! Happy hiking 😊
Thanks, and sorry for the gap in the videos: poor cell reception in this last section made uploading impossible. Next one will drop tomorrow.

Good to see you are on the move again. Hiking in hot weather is no fun.
did the varmit eat your paper clip also? I also don't do well in the heat.. Maybe it has something to do with age. Keep a stiff upper lip/
Ha! The paper clip is tucked away in my waist pack. I've never been able to tolerate hot weather. I blame it on my Nordic blood.
You guys are really enjoying the trail. Your trail sure is different from other hikers.
Hi Ken, this is Ken. Keep the hat. It's part of your story.
Yup! Lots of votes for me to keep it so I guess I'll wear it until it totally falls apart.
Your going to know all about ups and downs in the next month 😉. Once your above the tree line there realy is no shade. The Sierras are going to give you an adventure for sure.
They already have! We've experienced climbs similar to the steepest ones in the desert, but with the added challenge of the thin mountain air. Whew!
Goldilocks is a great trail name but I vote for... wait for it... Snake Charmer!

Did u feel any of the earthquakes?
Ya know, when you wear a skirt, you should cross your legs (6:40)!
Uh, yeah...Goldilocks is trying to remind me to be aware of that. Don't worry, I won't be going "commando" anytime soon.
Send the epic hat home. It's a keeper and should hang on a wall.
PS. keep the hat
