- The Dutch Moluccans, proud warriors in exile, form a close community. The homesickness of their country of origin binds them together, along with the rage about what has been taken away from them and the strength they draw out of their own feelings. On their motorcycles, they feel like the brave warriors of ago, and enforce respect through their appearance. Michael Schaap accompanies them, researching the essence of the rage driving them.

One wonders why this dutch documentary has a french title and introduction whilst all comments are in english. No problem, only one remark : the french for moluccans is moluquois, not moluccans. I live in France, have done so for 33 years now, and when I need to explain who the moluccans are and how they came to The Nehterlands the easiest thing is to compare them to the algerian Harki, who were soldiers in the french army before Algeria's independance and who ended up in camps in France as the moluccans did in NL. Of course such a comparison only holds partially, but the basic process has been very alike and it helps the french understand what it's about.

This is weird but Dutch sounds so similar to English to me that my eyes don’t automatically read the subtitles like it does with other languages but it’s not close enough to English for me to actually understand it so I have to actively force myself to read subtitles
Both Germanic languages and Dutch is considered the closest major language to English, although Frisian, another Germanic language spoken mainly in northern Netherlands is considered to be the closest language to English.
Hope one day they can accept Indonesia

Maori are polynesians mix with Papuans same like the people in Maluku and East Nusa Tenggara. Like Maori they speak Malayo-Polynesian languages but they are genetically mixed.
The Dutch are now contending with the Turks, the Moroccans and a whole lot of migrants up to no good, I wonder how the moluccans will cope with the newcomers?
