I just got the game a few days ago and find your video to be one of the easier ones to understand. Have you updated the Activities after the release of the full game? There are a few more activities now. I tried to guesstimate how you would have ranked them.
I think after completing a play through, you watch these and they help. There is so much to absorb in your first play through. The more fine print details just keep you playing, I’m also achievement hunting for this game, had a good special on xbox a couple weeks ago
Very useful. One minor thing though - the priorities have precedence from left to right so if you set heal to 1 it will always take precedence even if you set other priorities to 1.
Now I see why you're having the melt down problems that you mentioned previously. Anything in green (1 or 2) overrides their eat and relax from below 50% to below 20% and if they're running around all day hungry they're going to be near melt down all the time. Set handle and deliver to 3, their primary task to 4 and their secondary task to 5, but they read the chart from left to right so Laara can have harvest, plant and scavange all at 4 and she will do them from left to right in priority. Setting to 2 is only for crisis situations like when you need a particular resource fast. Having everyone healing at 1 is not efficient. If you're not going to use "self heal" so you only have one person not working instead of 2, then use a dedicated healer that will level up healing and not constantly fail and waste medicine. You can always manually assign healing in an emergency. Also, they don't like working in the dark and you may notice them commenting on it. You have them sleeping 3 hours in daytime and working past dark. You also need an "anything" or "relax" when they wake up so they can eat before they go to work if needed.
My activities and schedule works on hard with modifiers. I set 1 for heal and "priority" so I don't have to micro manage. I will not give them breaks in the day since I work them to the bone to get everything up and running FAST. Handle and deliver are VERY important and need to be prioritized accordingly. I do change their activities and they are not set in stone. Do appreciate the different advice. Do watch my hard run to maybe better understand why I'm putting the numbers in that I did.
Tim, I have done as you have described since the beginning, 3 is the lowest I go in the priorities menu. As for the work schedule I have none, sleep schedule is from 21.00 to 2.00 ... and anything the rest of the time. I usually have the full electrified base running before winter with all winter clothing ready ... but I do use the 3 speedsters and Vivien. Works like a charm and cant remember having a meltdown yet.
Def think Tim’s system is better after experimenting with the different options. Makes way more sense and the light/dark thing made a big impact on happiness. OP is a slave driver lmao. Also, FWIW OP just on a channel-building point, I’d suggest when you’re replying on viewers comment threads to dial up a somewhat more diplomatic tone. I don’t think you intended it, but your response had a tint of lacking receptiveness to constructive criticism. Even if internally you think folks’ advice is horrible from time to time, it would sound more open minded and therefore “likable” as far as the optics are concerned to simply bullshit them. I have a lot of friends in the music industry who’ve built their careers off of YT/social media so I’ve heard them talk about that stuff a lot. There’s a lot of hyper sensitive egos out there who can’t stand people not thinking their ideas come from a place of unmatched brilliance lol. JS. Anyway. Good series! I just got the game so it’s helped a lot as a beginner. Subbed 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Absolutely the BEST guide on activities and scheduling I've yet seen. I see so many people with materials all over the place and they micromanage every thing and more often than no, forget until there's a crisis. Loved the first 2 vids in this series as well. You've got a new sub my friend!!
Awe man! Mind Blown! Very thoroughly informative! I sense a bit of frustration that motivated you to find these powerful solutions. Thank you so much for these contributions. I wish the developers were this detailed. SMH
Excellent video with great information I will be implementing these right away in my current run and excited to see the result as micro management was getting a bit much on exactly the handling and delivery issues you spoke of, thank you!
This helped a lot not only to better understand the priority #s system, but also hearing the details behind what means what as far as tasks. I just started playing and was wondering why the soldering stuff wasn’t getting done but the crafting table was, etc. The game should be more clear on which task falls under which column imo. I know it breaks some of it down on the activity tab but it leaves some things out.
Just one piece of advice I have for later. I think that for your main builders construction and handle/deliver should be swapped. This results in overall smoother construction. As often with this configuration the survivors will wait until all resources are delivered to a site before even starting work. And though this may seem neater it is in fact slower. It's more efficient to have your builders start the construction work while the rest of your survivors handle the delivery of resources. Also don't put the survivors with low medical skill on 1 for healing. I know this SEEMS like a good idea. But I'd suggest a minimum of 3+ medical for anyone doing this Otherwise you will get a lot of mistreatments which will hurt your survivors more and lengthen recovery time and can even cause deaths in the worst situations.
I would add to also make your construct the same as handle/deliver, I had a massive house per built and my people were not building it, they gathered the wood and filled up my loader but wouldn't build haha
Have you considered the method which instead of setting survivors to relax at night instead to relax before the start of day? I set my relaxation at night but I did find the argument for the morning relaxation interesting.
I set the relaxing for night for the same reason people relax after work, long day. Their sleep boosts them with the relax before bed and they wake up nice😀. It should do the same thing either way, just cuts into my work day.
would you consider posting a later game schedule when things are a little more settled? I understand working them hard in the beginning, but do you keep that schedule throughout?
I wish some other content creators would watch this. I have seen their streams on this game shrivel up and die due to their enraged frustration because they cannot get anything done and they are in panic mode most of the time. This is basically a Going Medieval clone and the rules you are putting out are very close to what perafilozof laid out for that game.
Very good guide, helpful, thanks. Please note: your cursor in the video is just frantically circling and jerking all over the place. This can be a big problem for people with epilepsy and people who have visually triggered migraines (I get those, but my days of vulnerability vary, otherwise I could simply not watch a video like this -- but, over time .....). You could really improve it by using a more targeted cursor and moving it to where it's needed, *when* it's needed.
If you order a forest to be cleared. One person will chop it all first. Then haul it all back. Same with harvesting. Harvest everything, then haul it back. In short, limit how much you select in a batch.
If you enjoyed the video or hated it please post a comment
thx for the video i now understand the activities panel a hell of a lot more : )
@@lexxie316 Thank you very much. Glad it helped.

Found out that eating food takes priority over healing someone close to death the hard way 😂

Just picked up the game on PS5, this helps, thank you.

Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed them.
Found the schedules very confusing before- so many options to choose from. Thanks for vid- this clarified quite a lot. 👍
Glad it was helpful!

Thank u so much I love these type of games! Is there any more games like this on the ps4? I can't get enough of these type of games
Thanks for the clarity!
Great guide! Thanks for creating this one...👍👍👍
Very helpful and thank you for doing this now I understand it better.

How do you get in the tack when you’re under attack and still running lake pansies? Even when they have a weapon
Great guide. Help me get going
Very informative. I learnt something new :)
Hi cool Video good info what about the new Activites where the split resrch with observe and ranch ?
Why not manually heal? Shouldn't be that often?

I pretty much use the same schedule in later game as well. You can play around and adjust it to what suits your game. Nothing I show is set in stone.
@@frenziedplaytime ok gotcha, thanks!
How the hell did you manage to drag it out for the entire 16 minutes? :O
That's a feat on it's own...
All the ums and uhs

Stop eating the emergency rations! I'm trying to make a survival kit! Goddammit!
Stop with the mouse anyway
13:44 this whole statement made me crack up. “These are not real people, there are no laws, this is slave time.” 💀
