Thank you for this very interesting and informative analysis on this highly specialised subject!
Your installation is very neat and the versatility, ergonomics, time, energy, machine wear and fuel savings (particularly in not having to reposition) all add up!
As you say, learning about the components, systems and how they can work in your proposed application allows you to make informed decisions about investing in this capability.
Having done so, you are experiencing the benefits.
I doubt that any professional Operator would ever want to go back to a standard machine after working with this system.

Mate I’ve just found your channel and really enjoy your intelligent appraisals. These units are only just coming to Australia and they are massively expensive so it’s good to have some decent information. Thank you 👍

What would be nice is if a whole package as in machine, engcon, buckets, and attachments could be sold through one manufacturer.

I agree although this is possible with a few manufacturers now. CAT for example sell Rototilt's branded as CAT tiltrotators where you can buy it all through them with the CAT warranty. JCB will also do this with any brand, but you do pay a bit of a premium over getting them separately. I think in the next few years we will see it more and more with dealers needing to put the extra effort in to supply the tiltrotator as well to get the sale. But until they become more mainstream like they are in Scandinavia, us owners will need to put the effort in ourselves.

@@Olliegunns Yeah, i think you are right Ollie. Here in Sweden you dont see an excavator between 2,5 tons and 30 tons without an Engcon on. You being ahead of the game will give you an advatage in the future, when it probably will become standard as well. Keep it up! great vids!

Q for you Ollie .... (you know my 'history')
your EC02 / DC2 set up has Aux and Hyd hitch through the rotator ...
could engcon not offer the same with the old skool pedal/button set up ?
would merely be a change of cetop coils from prop. to on/off / conventional coils??
huge saving to be had on not having to have the DC2 control system ... a few down sides, in not having such infinite control of speeds, on each action, INDIVIDUALLY, when used in combination and having to 'pedal' the actions, but again BIG savings to be had in the difference in costs on prop. V. conventional cetop coils, but still possible to run all actions simultaneously

How is it really worth? I like it but I am in doubt how worth it will be.

It really depends on the type of work you do, but for me it has been a great decision and has easily earned its money back in labour saving alone in the last 3 years.

I've only just started watching but I presume your main criteria were Quick this and Quick that?

I fitted it to the machine with 1900hrs on it. Its now done 3500 so 1600ish with the tilty on.

I still can’t believe you paid 14 grand, that setup is 24k plus tax in the USA.

Well, you get the 1cxt cheaper than we do so I'll trade you. We can do it at Christmas to avoid customs😆
