I got the 100 count French Roast from Costco. It tastes great But I can only drink three quarters of the cup due to all the coffee mud at the bottom. The filters need work.

Apparently, these must be composted at an industrial facility that may or may not be available in your area. We just got a box and that's what it says on the box. Also, you can't just throw them in your compost pile?

Ok this was posted 5 yr ago. If they sell 1 million cuss a yr. that will make 5 million cups with the less plastic. If you have not seen these you will see the 87% less plastic than other cups. This is not called a k cup, It's called a pod. The actual CUP is gone. It's 🌳 replaced with a paper mesh filter exactly as the paper filter of drip makers. Think about THIS
    5 MILLION !
    5 MILLION cups eliminated.
    5 damn million.
That's all the reason I need. I do not work for San Francisco coffee. No. ☕
    M. Illinois.

I'm confused when you say "less plastic to recycle." My understanding was that the entire pods are biodegradable. Is this not the case?

There's a plastic ring at the top. There's no way that plastic is biodegradable.

Are you sure? They have been making plant based plastics for years. I ate a clear "plastic" beer cup in Colorado in 2012, and no I wasn't drunk (at that particular time).

I wrote to the company and was told: The ones purchased directly from us are 97% compostable. We are working very hard to make our OneCup 100% certified compostable.
Our lidding, ring, bag, one-way air valve, are all certified 100% compostable in an industrial composting facility. It is only the mesh that is currently not certified compostable. We are not currently certified for at home compost. For now, please just dispose of your pod until we can guarantee compostability as a whole unit.
So it's the mesh that isn't biodegradable. And you'd have to use an industrial compost.

The top portion is made of corn, but who really cares. People who think coffee pods made of paper will save the planet probably have never actually participated in the real world before. It's a marketing gimmick. The point is, these people make great coffee and it brews much better in a basket..therefore the TASTE is better
