Seems like a pretty promising fighting game with interesting finishers. I'm guessing throws and making the player fall over adds to points like a standard tournament, which is innovative for the time.

I feel this is how fight video games should be, two people the meet up within a they meet up in a ring or in an arena or a place that's suited for fighting. The characters don't need any special moves, but they're welcomed, just two people fighting within a realistic fighting area of some kind. Look, I'm just tired of seeing unrealistic areas to fight in, for example, in real life you're not going to see two martial artists, locking horns at a fancy Chinese restaurant, you will see two or more people fighting in a restaurant but they're not going to be martial artists, hell, they will probably not even know basic self defense.
True, but in real life you aren't going to see people throwing fireballs, or doing gravity defying spinning bird/hurricane kicks. Within the context of a fictional world, an impromptu battle can occur wherever the characters happen to meet, especially if they don't like each other. You see this in plenty of Jackie Chan movies, which had fights in shopping malls and arcades, to name just a few. It's not completely unbelievable to have two people who know martial arts meeting in these locations per se, it's just not to your taste.
