Women supporting other women takes women empowerment to another level. It’s an amazing drama well written, well directed and well acted. I miss Karachi of that time , it was never completely quiet but there was a certain charm in it, no cell phones no wifi phone ringing during after lunch hours in long summer afternoons had something in it . I miss those days and love to see a glimpse of Karachi of my childhood in this drama
My God . I missed this gem for so many years . Itni natural acting . Lag hee nahi k adakaari ker rahe hein . Nadia Jamil and Humayun ne itna acha kirdaar nibhaya .
Wonderful! Some of Mehreen Jabbar's films should be in international film festivals. I loved seeing women portrayed their age. Nowadays we see 30 year-olds playing grandmothers, over-made up without any wrinkles and the older generation of actors are invisible/forgotten. Sania Saeed was amazing!
Brilliant! I wish the newer drama makers would learn something from this. So little dramatic, background music and instead powerful yet simple dialogues that do all the talking, and the expressions of course. I loved how they showed the better sides of Karachi with its multicultural population and different faiths coming together in their human experiences. Aaj kall ke dramon mein Indian dramas ki tarha bahot loud music hota hai iss liye ke na expressions, na dialogues itne mazboot hote hain.
"Mary Spenta and Zubaida" can easily be turned into a series of plays in which every episode is a complete play with Mary, Spenta and Zubaida solving different cases of victimized girls. Policeman, guard and few others can act as stock characters. The stories could be written by different writers. People haven't got time for Novels & serials. Now when channels only air serials, introducing a series of vicitmized girls would be an innovative idea !!
Or any mystery cuz just female victims would make it a bit monotonous! Sounds like a great idea. It can actually become a family drama- such a brilliant concept to teach the future generations to coexist in harmony.
This is such a factual representation of society , women’s age. Also the different religious beliefs present in Pakistan. But in new dramas it’s not inclusive of others. Only urdu speaking and Islam is given focus
All characters are good, but Zaheen tahira (Zubaida) overacted in some scenes. Pathans have very distinct face features. If a real Parsi can be casted as Spenta, why cant a real pathan be casted for pathan characters. Nadia Jamil acted well enough as well as the man acted as her husband.
