Passing on family stories is so important. We even have some from my great grandparents who were born in the mid 1800's. It gives children a sense their family history. One child in each generation of my family has become a family historian. I took over from my mom and my nephew is taking over from me. I collected stories from my parents, aunts and uncles. Reunions were a great place to do that. My nephew is starting to ask me what it was like for me and my sister growing up.

I love watching kiddos open gifts. I don't have any kids. so i'm living for this. I made my sister facetime me at midnight so i can see my nephew open his gifts I got him.
I cried watching the end of this one. My dad (73) has Parkinson’s and I moved him in with me to be his caregiver a few months ago. He is starting to decline pretty quickly too; physically but mostly mentally. It’s such a hard transition. I can totally relate to what you guys are feeling this Christmas. My mom did this with her grandma only it was just a voice recording. Grandma was too nervous around cameras so we hid the voice recorder and listened to her tell stories for almost 2 hours. It’s one of my most valued possessions.😭❤️

Reminds me of when I was a kid. We'd do Christmas at home, eat breakfast (sausage egg & cheese casserole & biscuits), go to my dad's folks, spend a few hours (2 or 3), then my Mom's folks for a few hours then back home. Enjoy the time with parents/grandparents while y'all can. My own mom & her mom both had some dementia/forgetfulness when they passed.

You have a hard road ahead with your mother’s health. Take comfort in all the wonderful years you’ve had with her and cherish every moment. Prayers for peace with this. Wow Aaron's dad and stepmother did awesome! I felt like a huge amount of the gifts were very thoughtful and catered to the person it was for. With so many grandkids, that's awesome I know they all made lists that the grandparents got, but they actually went out and got all the stuff
I remember last Christmas the grandparents were ill and they couldn't visit with the family you had to collect the gifts from a distance, so happy everyone could get together this year to celebrate. When Crystal and Max were talking about “grandma” I couldn’t help but bawl my eyes out. I wish my grandma was still here and that I had lived close by to her. She moved to florida and was with me and my family for her last year. I thank God for that. I miss her dearly❤️

My grandparents both have dementia which is heartbreaking. The last gathering we had my grandma couldn't remember who my little brother was. Honestly just enjoy your time with them. Show them the good memories and constantly remind them how loved they are. Merry Christmas Petit Family!

I totally understand with the aging of our parents and grandparents. I lost my Dad Aug 4, 2020 to Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body. His decline was gradual for a couple of years then it became bad fairly quickly. My parents had been Married for 67 years he passed just before their 68th wedding anniversary Aug 21,1953. Just be their for your Grandma Love her , Cherish her, lots of Love and Understanding. My Mom lives with us. My Dad lived with us also until it came to the point where it was that he need 24 hours care. My mom is showing signs of it now. She is 87. Heavenly Father is always watching over each and everyone one of you. God Bless
When I was a young girl we would start out Christmas eve at my mom's parents, go home and do 1 present from mom, wake to Santa then open gifts from mom, after that was Christmas at my dad's parents with my grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins. Then my grandma's mom, my great grandma. After she passed we went back to my mom's parents for Christmas day.. so 4 Christmas gatherings. Now for my boys we do our celebration Christmas eve with my mom, my brother and his new wife, then Santa Christmas morning. We also do my husband's family at some point this year my niece couldn't make it so we will be doing her Christmas and her birthday which was 12/22 on January 8th... so many celebrations!!! Of course we can't forget the reason for the season and also do Christmas eve midnight service at church!! Love your awesome family!! Happy holidays!!!
The end of the video made me cry. We've just spent what we know will be the last Christmas for my dad. He got diagnosed with terminal cancer at Easter and have we've been told there's no more treatment as the cancer has spread all over his body and he has weeks not months left. I can't imagine life without him xxx

To make being on time obtainable, you have to change your mindset. I always look at it as a sign of respect for whoever you are meeting. Their time is important, as is yours, so you show your love and respect for them by being on time. In all other aspects, I see the love and respect you show your family, so Aaron, get it together and be on time. Love you guys!

I wouldn't say that they are rich. The neighborhood looks comfortable. You also have to keep in mind that in Arizona housing is much cheaper. And having as many Grandchildren as they do I'm pretty sure they shop all year slowly. But they did a fantastic job and it wasn't just over extravagant gifts they were all tailored very specifically for each child.
@@jenniwilliams3295 Exactly! We weren't an affluent family. There were 5 of us children. My mum shopped all year around. She looked for sales, specials and used lay-by, too. Back in that time groceries came in large brown paper sacks. As the year progressed, more and more of these sacks would appear on top of my parents' wardrobes. They were high enough that even if we stood on a chair we couldn't possibly see inside the sacks. The anticipation! We always had a wonderful time!
The ending was very touching to be. My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease few years ago now. It's been a year and a half that I don't see her, I know that at this stage of the disease she wouldn't recognize me anymore. Cherish those moments, grandpa's and grandma's are the best in life
I’m so intrigued and impressed by the grandparents ability to buy such personalized gifts for each and every child! I always thought my parents and my kids were pretty close but they would never be able to pick out clothing, especially. I love that they include each and every kid with several unique gifts. Some grandparents would probably stop buying gifts after a certain number of children too. Grandma and Grandpa seem like great people who know each child on an individual basis. Crystal and Aaron do you have to help them in that area?

What a special day. I love that your kids are thankful whether it's something that caused the $1,000 or a cactus nail file. I've never heard one of them ever complain. Both sets of grandparents did a great job gifting the kids. And a lot of people talked about how many presents they get. I don't know anybody who wouldn't want their kids to have such a huge family that loves them so much and the gifts weren't super extravagant and I really think that they're the type they kind of just keep collecting throughout the year because they know the kids. I hope Alex made it to the second party. I don't blame you for living in the moment right now though. Sometimes you just have to put the camera down and like you said look around and realize how old your parents are getting and how old your kids are getting. And believe me I am having a hard time too with the fact that somehow they got big. There was no toys this Christmas in our house which is the first time ever. It's very hard to accept that they get bigger. It looks like everybody had a wonderful time and I hope that today you guys are celebrating just yourselves lazy in your jammies. Because you've been running a marathon for the last 2 weeks. Merry Christmas to you all.
I am so glad that you had a nice Christmas. As for myself I can't celebrate this anymore. I haven't had a Christmas gift from anyone since 1972 when I was 15. Now I am 65 and I have absolutely no friends or any family to have around me. Again I happy to see you all so happy. this is all I have for Christmas.

Back in that time groceries came in large brown paper sacks. As the year progressed, more and more of these sacks would appear on top of my parents' wardrobes. They were high enough that even if we stood on a chair we couldn't possibly see inside the sacks. The anticipation! We always had a wonderful time!

The ending was very touching to be. My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease few years ago now. It's been a year and a half that I don't see her, I know that at this stage of the disease she wouldn't recognize me anymore. Cherish those moments, grandpa's and grandma's are the best in life

I’m so intrigued and impressed by the grandparents ability to buy such personalized gifts for each and every child! I always thought my parents and my kids were pretty close but they would never be able to pick out clothing, especially. I love that they include each and every kid with several unique gifts. Some grandparents would probably stop buying gifts after a certain number of children too. Grandma and Grandpa seem like great people who know each child on an individual basis. Crystal and Aaron do you have to help them in that area?

What a special day. I love that your kids are thankful whether it's something that caused the $1,000 or a cactus nail file. I've never heard one of them ever complain. Both sets of grandparents did a great job gifting the kids. And a lot of people talked about how many presents they get. I don't know anybody who wouldn't want their kids to have such a huge family that loves them so much and the gifts weren't super extravagant and I really think that they're the type they kind of just keep collecting throughout the year because they know the kids. I hope Alex made it to the second party. I don't blame you for living in the moment right now though. Sometimes you just have to put the camera down and like you said look around and realize how old your parents are getting and how old your kids are getting. And believe me I am having a hard time too with the fact that somehow they got big. There was no toys this Christmas in our house which is the first time ever. It's very hard to accept that they get bigger. It looks like everybody had a wonderful time and I hope that today you guys are celebrating just yourselves lazy in your jammies. Because you've been running a marathon for the last 2 weeks. Merry Christmas to you all.

I am so glad that you had a nice Christmas. As for myself I can't celebrate this anymore. I haven't had a Christmas gift from anyone since 1972 when I was 15. Now I am 65 and I have absolutely no friends or any family to have around me. Again I happy to see you all so happy. this is all I have for Christmas.

Enjoy every moment together in the last few years our family's (my husband and i) have lost both sets of parents and I've lost 2 sisters so I tell everyone spend as much time together as possible live each day like it's the last time you're going to see that person. I absolutely love all the crazy channels xx
