I've owned the Oppo BDP-105D and the Marantz SA-14S1 - both premium CD/SACD players - and both were faultless but so they should have been at their respective sticker prices in 2014. FWIW, both were considerably cheaper than the MSRP on your player. Glad to read in the comments that you had the laser mechanism replaced and everything now seems to be working, but for mine Pioneer appear to have dropped the ball here - regardless of where they sourced their internal components, testing everything to the point of failure would seem mandatory on any product at this price. On a more sombre note, I fear Pioneer (along with their saviour Onkyo) may have bigger fish to fry in 2021 if the scuttlebutt in certain corners of the audio press is based on their actual business performance. Think happy thoughts.
The lase mech is MADE IN CHINA (TD-7000). Is review pretty good and its used by japan companies, but in the end, still made in china and can be broken very fast.....
im glad you posted this. i will never in my life buy a pioneer product. let them go bankrupt
And my 30 years old Pioneer CD player still working fine, maybe it is because was made in Japan or back then were made it to last forever.
Laser replaced, now working fine!
@@peppermint1739 Good to know, it was under warranty the laser replacement ??
Yes, under warranty
My Marantz DV9600 is doing the exact same thing. Having the lazer replaced shortly so hopefully it will fix the issue.
For a year. Then again no reading.

Got same 3 discs like yours. And 3 Pioneer SACD players. All are right still. But this is bad, very bad. As top model it should sound amazing no?

Nearly knocked my faith on Pioneer. Made in my home country Malaysia, my D6&D9 too but both still solid after 10 years. Congrats.
