As a black guy myself that’s played ever ac all the way from ac 1 to mirage and I have to say Ubisoft screwed up like no joke forever I’ve wanted a true assassins creed game set in Japan with ninjas and cool assassinations but they make a 7 foot black guy with dreads like wth is ninja about that🤷🏾♂️ they messed bad and on top of that both protagonists are gay?????? yeah, they totally botched on that title. this was more like a teaser trailer. however, for me, seeing the gameplay won't change my mind. this will be the first AC game I avoid. and the first game that I won't be defending ubi on. this game was doomed from the moment we first saw the helmet come off revealing a toby underneath. 🤷🏻♂️

The concept is intriguing, but I have to agree with the more moderate takes in that the main character should have been original. Ultimately, the backlash combined with the dubious origins of the sources used to create the character, is just going to leave a bad taste in the mouths of those who play. We have had several different AC games in the past with original characters, so why sub out one of them with a real person? Why now? Japanese fans had been eager to play a Japanese character in a Japanese styled AC game. I can understand why they feel insulted, especially if the character is being misrepresented.

I was really looking forward to this game but now I'll wait for the next one. Never skipped an AC game but this one won't make it i to my game library. Ubisoft needs to listen to their fan base, I rather this games get released November of 2025 if they need to in order to change the characters to be more accurate.
So I know the gameplay is good in my opinion. I only hope that the story is good and that at least one of the playable characters is an assassin. The shinobi has to have that blade for a reason.
