These guys totally had me fooled this morning into thinking they were some "undiscovered" 70's band that had somehow missed my radar in my 41 years of listening to just about every kind of rock music imaginable. All I can say is wow, I am impressed! Voice like Jethro Tull, Guitars like Sabbath and Zeppelin, and even right down to the retro looking album art that displayed on Pandora, haha. Even their name is old school- like a 70's cult metal band!
Really threw me for a loop- hope for humanity is restored! I shared these guys's music with my 55 year old aunt who pretty much raised me on 70's rock from the day I was born in 75' (she used to babysit me when I was little). She was almost fooled too.....now they are waiting for the band to come back to the states again to see them.
I just turned 59 a week ago, only heard of this band from a recommendation made to another person, so I thought why not? I returned right away to say thanks of course!
Other bands that are similar (if you don't know already): Graveyard (Hisingen Blues is a fantastic album, one of my favorites), Orchid (there are two bands name Orchid, it's the one with the songs "Capricorn" and "Wizard of War"), Mount Carmel, Vidunder, Witchcraft, Hypnos (there are few bands named Hypnos, it's the one with the songs "I'm on the Run" and "Hypnos"), Greenleaf, Horisont, The Graviators, Troubled Horse, Spiders, Maidavale, Hallas, Dead Lord, Siena Root, Lucifer, The Oath, Brutus, Wucan, Demon Head, and to some extent, Purple Witch, Mountain Witch, and Demon Eye. This is just a beginner's list, there are plenty more!
ZerberusKnight If you like these guys you should check out: Witchcraft, Earth, The Sword, All them Witches, Quest for Fire, and Weird Owl. they're all pretty similar to this and amazing.
I believed that I could see it all When the old man sings the song of life You leave it down Just pray for my mind When the time has come to realize I wanna know will you still remember me? I get the feeling that we could recover more words from a collective effort. On my (our?) way men >weave? With flames ...?< ... in the fog? A (and?) promise in the mist of time On my (our?) way men >weave flame? With flame< in the crowd? in my cross? Then they shudder from ... from the crimson skies (could it be "fear"/"myrrh"?) The whole lead lick is based on the song of the band; Barış Manço & Moğollar - İşte Hendek İşte Deve. Well, Turkish Anatolian Rock was basically a movement that fused good old psych/acid/stoner rock with some folkloric elements based on the region. Glad that these guys are doing a nice tribute and revival, the fellas from Kadavar always mentioned that they had a soft spot for Turkish psych. I hope that the same movement flourishes over here in Turkey too.
I'd be the newbie today & most likely the oldest (59) too, this is the second song & I knew I liked the band within the first four notes of the first one, regardless of any familiar sounds (I agree with all the comments on their sound) they're good & I'll pass them on to anyone I think would enjoy em' too. Thanks.
Saw these dudes last December. All Them Witches(which I went for) opened the show. These guys played next. And The Sword played last. Holy fuck, the show was almost as good as a Rush concert. LIKE EVERYONE WAS GETTING INTO IT. These awesome motherfuckers killed it, like they blew my mind, I'm glad they were there, had they not been, I probably wouldn't have found out about them. FUCKING AWESOME!!!
I saw them with ATW and The Sword too, and that was probably one of the best live shows I ever had pleasure attending. It was just so good, and yes, literally everyone was into it.
Holy shit wow. I'm pretty picky about music and Black Sabbath is the only band that I actually react to with emotion. This song just screams Sabbath, I coud totally picture them playinng this. I love it.
Yay First. Song wie gewohnt klasse! Video minimalistisch aber wirkungsvoll was Atmosphäre angeht! Macht weiter so, Album wird gekauft! Und bitte kommt wieder nach Kiel!
"Szału nie ma". "Into the night" lepsze, szczególnie sam koniec tego utworu. Greetings from Poland!
I am glad that began in recent years emerging bands sounding like this, give me some hope in the music renewal, at least in the rock world, no more death metal, back metal, doom metal, progressive death metal, symphonic metal, which come the classic hard rock and heavy metal of the 70s and the psychedelic rock of the late '60s ... It only hope is that if they become mainstrem not change the sound for commercial crap ...
+Jasper Sylvester I reall doubt Kadavar will go mainstream; way too many people cant think outside the box when it comes to rock/metal, and are content to listen to mettalicunt and motley crue ad nauseum.
I kind of feel like the music is too clean. It's pretty crisp, and one of the things I love about Abra Kadavar was that messy sound with the distortion, it made it sound older, I think that's the word I want. The vocals too, I loved the off key vocals from that album that reminded me kind of Ozzy early in Black Sabbath. That being said, I'm still really excited for this new album and can't wait.
Monster Betrayer cheers for your review. but i can tell you the sound of the album is more dirty than on "abra kadavar". Its just different. We wanted to try something new and don't stuck in the same mud for another album. Pelle Gunnerfeldt did a great job mixing the album. every song sounds different. maybe you'll like it. lupus
Lupus Lindemann I'm a fan of different, I'm a fan of experimentation and new things. If you do the same thing over and over, you lose your love for it. It becomes a chore instead of a passion. With all that I said, I still like The Old Man, I think it's a good song, and I really cannot wait for the rest of the Album. I'd like to thank you for reading and replying to my comment, and for making the music you guys do. It's great to just chill to and great to drive to. You guys have actually reawakened my love for this style of sound. Thank you, and keep up the great work.

06.05.2023 Luxemburg Kadavar & Graveyard :-)
Clicked on this out of curiosity... That guitar, those vocals, that drum beat... This is pretty fucking awesome!
ZerberusKnight You forgot the maracas.
HOW COULD I?!
ZerberusKnight If you like these guys you should check out: Witchcraft, Earth, The Sword, All them Witches, Quest for Fire, and Weird Owl. they're all pretty similar to this and amazing.
LevitatorMusic Don't forget Dead Meadow and Uncle Acid!
uioz or Graveyard :).
Can't get enough of Kadavar at the moment. LP's making their way to me slower than the dead. They just seem to get better with every listen.
what a song! KADAVAR FARAVAR!!!!
Just an updated comment: Great presentation last night in Berlin! Tons of energy!
I Never Knew About This Band Before, It's Cool To Bring Back 70's Rock, I Like The Guitar Slide, Perpaduan Black Sabbath Dan Rainbow...

How is it possible that there is still no full lyrics anywhere of Kadavar I mean wtf?!?!?

Saw these guys last in Minneapolis. Brilliant live show. This video has nothing on live Kadaver. Lupus is a stellar front man.
That main riff is a killer. Kadavar deliver some of the most consistently rifftacular retrodoom.
New High On Fire, Graveyard, Chelsea Wolfe, Myrkur, Kadavar, The Sword, Anthrax, and Ghost albums all in one year? 2015 is a good year for metal!
Ocean Sage So pumped for the new Ghost
Just heard the new song from The Sword in streaming... and I'm sorely disappointed. Kadavar is far superior to The Sword now.
Draclord35 I believe that isn't as strong as their Age of Winter album, but it is still pretty good. I think this is far better though.
Keith Wright Did you hear the studio version of The Pinnacle to the Pit?
Jon Kopp Yeah -- sounds good!

+annostriker Really cool! Thanks for the insight into a great song. I'll have to check out that band
Thank you VERY MUCH for your comment! I had no idea that Turkish Rock even existed! Spent the entire day listening to Baris Manço. He's AWESOME!
I think I've had this song on repeat for about 4 hours now. I may in fact dig it, slightly.
Very nice song....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
70's rock n roll ! great !
Great band!

Super balans między klasyką a nowoczesnością🎸
nice
😎🖤💯🤘
They are AWESOME live!!!
Counting the days to see these guys live here in Brazil

I really hope this genre catches on.
Have you been sleeping? ;)
There are lots of bands playing this retro style nowadays.

This riff reminds me so much of Witchcraft - witchcraft
0:58 Tiger with the maracas and tambourine hahaha!
These people they are into witchcraft
They are not what they seem :)

Muy bueno!!!
Cool song and video guys!
Una de las revelaciones de este 2015!
