Me too.. I understand what you mean even though I’m a kathniel fan. Everyone literally had to make her do what she is supposed to do as an ACTRESS. Kath is hardworking, but because of these revelations, she’ll get discredited so much by other fans. From this media con, you can see that she was stripped off many things including friends and communication from Dj in order for her to deliver her roles, which I believe isn’t good for her image. Because she should be able to do all these nonetheless right? And she can, she’s proved it in her previous movies. Thankfully Direk Cathy is very understanding. I’m afraid She may not have this same level of understanding from another director. I understand that she is still trying to adjust, but I hope she does it fast so she can be offered more diverse roles. With this reaction, some directors would not want to cast her in films or series with another partner. I applaud her nonetheless for the sacrifices even though others had to make her do it. I honestly want to give bigger props to Alden for understanding that this setup was new to kath. I can’t imagine how much pressure he had to bare, from kathniel fans to kath herself. I hope some obsessive kathniels can see how this two sacrificed. To think, the even had to go far as making a hashtag urging kath not to accept the project with Alden, putting kath under much more pressure as she was already terrified. Some fans even threatened they are done if she ever accepted, like are you even a fan!!!! Give Dj and kath space for goodness sake. They are actors, not only lovers. That is their job. I was a little disappointed by kaths actions but I do understand her. I hope she and Dj eventually get used to fact that, they won’t be together all the time, especially when working. And learn to separate personal feelings from work. Hoping she’ll be more professional next time and wouldn’t require the energy of all her co workers to help her deliver her role. She’s done so well before, I really don’t want her hard work to be discredited, but with actions like this, it is inevitable. I hope this film goes beyond successful so it compensates for the sacrifice they all made and encourages her. Big ups to the cast of #hellolovegoodbye
Like Direk Cathy said in order for Kath to perform the role as 'Joy' in the movie successfully, she have to experience how an OFW lives and feel. This is a hard role, and Kath did a great job. Anyone, who was prevented and not allowed to talk to people or communicate with anyone will go crazy. Wouldn't you? She had to go through hardship to know and understand her character so she can do a great job. And people around her are just helping her. I guess we don't know how hard Actors and Actresses have to focus and work hard to transform themselves to their character and that's why it's so easy for some people to judge and comment because those people just don't understand.
N Christelle it’s called method acting. A lot of professionals do it. Even Angel Locsin would not talk to other people prior to a heavy scene. She has learned that method from seniors and now Kathryn is learning that method as well. So what is wrong with it? And with regards to her actions towards dj etc... you have to understand, for almost 8 yrs they have worked together from one project to another, the longest ever for a loveteam to work continuously because of the massive success of the loveteam and unending support of fans, compared to other loveteams from different generations and the other loveteams now- they are the longest, plus this is her boyfriend of 7 years which is her “home” or “comfort” and suddenly she was paired with a different actor- ofcourse the adjustment is major and the changes would be hard to absorb, plus she is as direk cathy would say “sheltered” and not mahirap, so these things were done for her to absorb her character, even hollywood actors do immersions etc like this, this isn’t something new to actors. With regards to this solo prject, that’s why she has repeatedly said on magazines and personal posts that she’s going out of the box this yr, she’s gonna be brave and do a separate project, it doesn’t mean that it was gonna be easy, but hey she’s coping... kudos to her...
N Christelle you make it seem as if she was a burden to the cast and crew which is so not the point. If others would discredit her for doing this method then people, do your research more. This is not the first time it’s done to actors and actresses both locally and intly. And Alden’s character here is not a DH... ofcourse he doesn’t have to go through what kathryn experienced, plus he doesn’t have a girlfriend of 7 yrs and loveteam of 8 yrs for him to undergo a sudden change or adjustment.

And also, I’m aware that to deliver a character, you have to know what it is to be in their shoes. By no means did i say she was a burden, if I made it seem that way then I apologize. I said I understand why this process is so difficult for her and Dj, having been paired with each other for close to 8 years. They are probably the longest paired loveteam. They grew soooo attached to each other. And I also made it clear that I was happy she had very supportive co workers who understood her throughout the process. However, I’m afraid she won’t have the same reaction from other co-workers reason why she has to try to be more professional. We can all agree that she had difficulties concentrating on her roles because of the separation anxiety.. like she would always cry every night and says she doesn’t want to anymore. Some directors will be a little disappointed by this reactions. Because it is not about her difficulty to portray her character, but he fact that her personal feelings are interfering with her work. kath is a very good actress. She’s proved it a lot. But she still has so much more to prove. I understand her and I’m not holding against her in anyway. I’m just so scared that her next director may not be as understanding as direk cathy is. Direk Cathy knows kath so well and knows exactly what to do to pinch that button. All I am saying is that her and Dj should speed up the adjustment process just a little more. Since it’s new to them, they can talk more on how to handle their emotions better while they are apart. I really want to see them reach greater heights in their acting career and taking on diverse roles. I don’t want projects to pass them by because of this
N Christelle well then, thank you if you do understand. but let me just clarify one thing, she was crying not because of the separation, but because pf the hardships and hardwork that she had to do, the tasks during the immersion in a foreign country, making it even more difficult, plus the psychologically draining days when everyone was not allowed to talk to her- that alone will make you feel frustrated, That’s why she cried... not because dj was not there... so her personal concerns and feelings are not the problem... and i don’t think that’s being any less than professional...
