Great video! I love the whole idea of OSB. Only wish it weren't $26 USD a sheet right now!

Wondering if guys standing where the logs are coming down the chute wouldn't be allowed in the USA due to insurance companies and is this why it is less expensive to manufacture osb in China. 1:16 is the time stamp.

depends where you are, up north they thaw their wood to make it easier to debark, down south we used to run pine but now we run tree length oak

3:24 what the heck is going on? It looks like a saw is cutting the extrusion into lengths, but while the extrusion is moving, but it's an automated circular saw, so it needs time to cross the width before the length is cut, so the extrusion would need to stop and go, but it's going continuously and the saw is moving across anyway? Maybe it's moving with the extrusion to always stay in line but I'm not seeing that. Am I seeing it wrong or misunderstanding?

Yes the saw is moving diagonally, i.e. cutting across the board while moving along the conveyor at the same speed as the board.

I noticed the US market is not included....wonder why?

Because LP, GP, and Norboard hold the US market and many overseas markets.

As a retired carpenter, I wouldn't recommend OSB for anything ...nothing but crap wood...
Best part is, I wouldn't even put my father in-law in a casket made from this junk, and I don't even like him...

Well actually if u put a face veneer it will look like a plywood. But if u see this product the recovery rate of the lumber is higher. So u have less wastage as our forest is getting less this kind of product will help us sustain our forest. Used to work in a plywood factory 30 years ago

Yo! Because of your terrible review and wasted time in watching and commenting on this video, I will Subscribe to the channel. OSB is great for its purpose I I highly doubt you are an "experienced" carpenter by the way.
